For steaks try Carmen's steakhouse. I haven't been since the new owner and the renovations but if it's anything like before, this was the best steakhouse in Toronto.
It was also my favourite - I didn't even know they reopened!

I didn't know either until very recently. Apparently after the old man died the family did not want to run the restaurant so it was closed for a few years, and then sold to one of the former chefs who is now a businessman. He renovated the restaurant and re opened it.It was also my favourite - I didn't even know they reopened!
Harbor 60, had the medium well done rib-eye and mashed potato lobster . House cabinet! Outstanding meal.Yes #YOLO!!! Wiser words have never been spoken! Harbour 60 it is first![]()
I think all the places that are mentioned are great. That's why they are recommendations. WE liked them. Doesn't mean you personally have to.
At least 8 people have mentioned Jacob'sI am surprised no one mentiond Jacobs steak house yet
But my favorite is got to be Blu ristorante by far at least for 2
There is a reason for that... have most gone? That's another story. At least 8 people have mentioned Jacob's![]()
OP asked for steak or seafood. That sounds pretty specific to me. Doesn't care about the ambience but even for the ones who do, it's a solid choice. There is a reason for that... have most gone? That's another story.
I not a fan people that ask for best or top restaurants blindly. Give a criteria of what foods are you are looking for, otherwise you will get variety to good and over hyped places.
Are you going food? Ambiance? Scenery? or the whole package?
Lastly the day of the week will make the biggest list change (Jacob - unless you know the owner or tip the hostess well... you are not going to get a table last minute).
LOL at non-resto reviews. True. I feel you.I know what Space asked in thread... I was referring to others in general.
As for blind recos, you never know with this board at times... just reading some actual (non-restros) reviews, I SMH (shake my head) and wonder...
One of the owners always hides over at Citizen and recently has a thing for Asian girls LOL.
I used to go every 2 weeks (my own time or with business clients) so the hostesses usually have no issues with last minute (1-day notice) reservations.
