I live in a large Ontario city, and, the last time I checked, you can only get second does appointment if you are 70 y.o. and had your first shot before April 18.
It is or. Big difference.

And no healthy person under 70 could have gotten the first dose before April 18.
I am under 70, had my dose April 11 and had no special consideration in regards to any health issue.

Your post is totally wrong. You have no idea what you're talking about.

Sorry, my bad, English is not my native language. What I meant to say is that people over 70 and people who had their shots before April 18 are the only ones who can get second shot before July 19. But, unless you are in the highest health priority group for the first shot, only people who are over 70 were able to get their first shot before April 18. So, can you tell us how you were able to get your first shot on April 11 if you are under 70 and not an organ transplant or cancer patient? Jumped the line or had your first shot outside of Ontario?

... Well, I live in "regular" spot and i am not an Inuit. I guess, I should say another summer good-buy.
So I guess you did not read my reply to your post above? As it would have answered what you just posted.

I don't think English not being your "native language" is the problem that plagues you on this board.

The City of Toronto opened up it's mass vaccination clinics to anyone over 60 years old and resides within the boundaries of the city on April 2, 2021.

It's 70+ OR first shot before April 18th
Rules are different from health unit to health unit but people were getting their shot before April 18th. Hospital and LTC workers for example.
Care givers either professional, family or even friends of people over 75 in my area could get them at the same time as 70 year olds.

So, basically, if you are a healthy 55 y.o. living in Ottawa and not working in a supermarket of a hospital, you have to wait till July 19 just to be able to get an appointment. Plus two weeks before the shot (if you are lucky to find an appointment withing 100km of Ottawa), plus another 2 weeks for the immunity to kick in and you are fully vaccinated by the end of the summer. Am I the only one who is able to compare it to the U.S. (anyone can make an appointment almost the next day almost anywhere) and see that it unacceptable?

55's were able to get astra zeneca in early April, and can get pfizer or moderna now based on the 8 week interval.

So, tell me again why no first doze astra zeneca is administer anymore? Yes, it is not safe and the government finally admitted it. So, like any rational person I want a safer vaccine and I followed all the provincial rules and the earliest I can get my second pfizer doze is late July. Let's not compare apples and oranges.

That was your risk-based choice. I think two million people got Astra Zeneca in Canada, so saying people have to wait isn't generally true.

Ontario shut down AZ first doses to examine the concerns, and then didn't need AZ to complete first dose rollouts due to increased supply of the others.

On May 11, 2021, following the advice of Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health, Dr. David Williams, the province paused the rollout and administration of first doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine. The decision was made out of an abundance of caution due to an observed increase in an adverse reaction, known as vaccine-induced immune thrombotic thrombocytopenia (VITT), linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine. Ontario is working closely with health experts to continuously review the data for the use of AstraZeneca for first doses. The decision to pause was also based on the increased and more reliable supply of the Pfizer and Moderna mRNA vaccines and the downward trend in cases.

You should probably look at the actual details if you're interested in booking. Hotspots have different additional options but as of today, anyone in who received their first dose on or before May 9 and live in Halton, Peel, Porcupine, Toronto, Waterloo, Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph or York public health units can book.

Which as has been explained several times is not true.

I got my 2nd dose of Pfizer yesterday.

I have friends who felt woozy or had raised temperatures for a day after their second dose.. I was expecting my body would react more as it had built up tolerance for the first shot.

Result: I had almost the same reaction as the first shot. Sore arm when I woke up but by afternoon, I felt totally normal.

Maybe we should start a second shot survey.

If AZ is safe, why not continue with first dozes of AZ and speed up the second dose of Pfizer? Or AZ is safe only when the government wants it to be safe?

And again, what about people living in Ottawa or Kingston?
