No doubt the puck crossed the line but the argument was that the whistle had blown prior to that. I'm not sure if that was really the case because all the replays were shown without in game sound.
This is from the very beginning not after he flopped on the puck.

Obviously they did not have this angle and blow up available to them.

This was a goal...Leafs and their fans have a legitimate gripe.

No doubt but I can see the refs easily missing that. It happened so quickly.
Bottom line is Leafs have nobody to blame but themselves for this series loss.
The giveaways in their own zone during the 2nd and 3rd periods were atrocious.
Matthews played his best game of the series last night but Bobs owned him. Where was he for the other 4 games though?
Your best players have to play like your best players and they just didn't get the job done.
I think we've seen enough. We aren't winning with this crew.
Florida came in to the series with a game plan on how to win - Out hustles and beat down the Leafs. Lots of little jabs and extra's, even after the whistles. Toronto was beat down and did not know how to respond.

This is on the coach, he was out coached this series.

That's almost as controversial as Brayden Point's disallowed goal in the much closer first round series, when the replay clearly showed Samsonov hadn't covered the puck.
Leafs avoided disaster with that blown call but there wasn't nearly as much hoo-haw

It’s too antagonizing to try and analyze the legality of that disallowed goal or if there should have been a penalty. That’s water under the bridge now. Besides, the Leafs had the benefits of all the tips, bounces, blown calls and non called penalties gone their way in the Tampa series in which they were outplayed in most of the games. Luck tends to balance out over the long haul.

I now want to know how ownership look at the current state of the team and the direction it’s heading. Dubas is without a new contract yet, there are 10 unrestricted free agents and one more year left on Matthews and Nylander’s contracts. Tavares, Giodano and Brodie will be another year older and slower. Without major shake ups in management and/or core players, I don’t see how this team can flare better in the next playoffs.

If they resign Dubas, would that signal to the fans that winning one round was all they demanded from Dubas in order to give him a new contract ? Is the ownership group satisfied with the way the team performed even though it just barely escaped from being swept ? Is any or all of Shanahan , Dubas and Keefe going to be held accountable and get fired ? This is going to be a very interesting off season.

Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers is about to have terrible ratings. And can you imagine if the match up on the west side is Las Vegas Golden Knights vs Seattle Kraken? Haha good job NHL!

So you'd rather have the system rigged so that only teams that get good TV ratings advance in the playoffs?

Those are four fast and highly entertaining teams so people who are hockey fans will watch and be rewarded.

The NHL tries to maintain a system where there's parity in the league and we don't just have to watch the same two or three large market teams win the championship every single year, so you're correct in saying "good job NHL". It's a great product.

Everyone is doling out core four like Nylander was part of the problem. He was not. He was fantastic in round 2. The only real offensive threat Leafs had. Quite frankly Leafs looked slow. They were once a fast team when they had the likes of Kapanen, Johnnson, Mikheyev, and Engvall. All other series the game is fast. The players are fast. Rush chances. Leafs on the other hand change their style of attack. Gain zone entry or dump and retrieve. Cycle it around. Pass back to up high near the blue line and shoot for screens or tips.

On the series ending goal 3 on 2 with Lili, Acciari, and O'Rielly they mangle it all up. A weak turnover with no real shot at the net.
Play goes the other way and they set up to get a high danger slot shot with a screen and a forward defending bent sideways.
On the Verhaeghe goal same. 3 on 2 puck carrier brings Woll to the middle makes lateral pass to Verhaeghe for shot as Woll is moving. Only Nylander generates rush chances like this but his passes don't lead to anyone being able to finish.

Comparing Florida's top end salaries to Leafs top end salaries:

Bobrovsky 10 mill. He was fantastic. Probably the reason Panthers won.
Barkov 10 mill. He was +3 so he was good.
Thachuk 9.5 mill. He was fantastic
Ekblad 7.5 mill. He had 5 pts in 5 games with 1 goal so that is very good.
Reinhart 6.5 mill. He of 2 goals 3 pts

Matthews 11.64 mill. He should be driving play every shift he's out there.
Tavares 11 mill. He is too slow for today's game. Like Matthews zero goals in 5 games.
Marner 10.903 mill. He should also be driving play every shift he's out there.
Rielly 7.5 mill He was fantastic 1 goal 4 pts +3. Eklad was -1
Nylander 6.962 mill 2 goals 3 pts. The only Leaf that looked fast. The only real offensive threat Leafs had.

Florida's lower tiered players like Verhaeghe (4.166 mill), Bennett (4.425 mill), Duclair (3 mill), Cousins (1.1 mill), Lundell (925 thou)
were also good. The series was 4 to1 and Bobrovsky was fantastic but still it was close. Unlike against TB where they won 3 OT games, they lost 2 OT games against Florida. First 3 games Samsonov perhaps gave up 2 weak goals but the margins were so small that those are killers. Overall Leafs probably looked better against Florida than they did against TB with the difference being
Bobrovsky (0.943 save percentage in 5 games) and Vasilevsky (0.875 save percentage in 6 game).
Of note in the Florida series Samsonov (0.892 save percentage in 3 games) and Woll (0.921 save percentage in 2 and relief)
Samsonov had a similar save percentage against TB.

And this is why playoff matchups based on brackets is such a horrible idea.

#1 vs. #8 and 2 vs. 7 etc. is not a rigged system. I don't think that there's any complaints about the NBA system, or even in tennis seedings.

It's based on merit as determined by previous performance and has nothing to do with popularity. The finals is supposed to showcase a sport, not be a nothing burger.
