Do they still get the 2 points?
yes ... thanks for asking
LA lost to Ottawa.
Come on man ... do you even follow hockey
Leafs usually lose to the bad teams so this is a step up.

I think that one game is hardly a statement on the status of this team.. Maybe I'm wrong, but I got the impression that is what you were trying to say.

It's just one game.

Up next Rangers followed by TB. The only 2 teams in the East without a regulation loss.
Panarin has 11 pts in 4 games. That leads the league. Rempe has only played 1 game. Their designated fighter appears to be Edstrom listed at 6'6" and 241 lbs.
Kucherov has 7 pts in 3 games. With 6 of them goals which leads the league.

From Sportsnet:
" The Benoit-Liljegren pair had a rough outing against the Los Angeles Kings, who had a 20-2 edge in shot attempts at 5-on-5 when those two were on the ice. "

No one is saying one game is a statement of the team. Where are on earth are you getting this from.
Regular season is building the team for the playoffs. This is a work in progress.
They'll be loading up for the playoffs at the trade deadline. Hakanpaa will most likely replace Timmons.
Lili will likely not be starting for the playoffs. He possibly could be traded before they even get there.
Regular season is just preseason for the playoffs. We all know it's the playoffs that matter.
If they can't make the playoffs then they have bigger problems.
I think they're doing the right thing changing their playing style that is more suitable for the playoffs so they don't need to make an abrupt change like they did last playoffs.
Starting goalie for the Leafs come playoffs has not yet been determined and they certainly are not playing LA in the playoffs without Drew Doughty.
The second and third lines they're still experimenting. Who knows what they'll do when Jarnkrok and Dewar comes back.

Every year in the last 8 playoffs it's been a tough out.
Washington won the President's Trophy first year.
TB made the Finals 3 times and won the Cup twice.
Boston had a President's Trophy calibre team and Leafs could never been them in 3 game 7 attempts.
4 if you count Reimer but that was pre Matthews era.
They've only won the Division once and that year they ran into Montreal who made it to the Finals.
Florida back to back Finals with one of them winning it.

I wish they got rid of the bracket thing. I know it's popular in College hoops, but they have so many more teams that I think that it's not nearly as repetitive as the NHL

Luke Fox "it is clear just 10 days into the season that not all opponents are created equal"

13 goals allowed in 6 games played.
2 of them were empty nets by the Rangers.
This without Woll.

Tonight the Leafs looked fast. Give Nylander credit for unselfishly trying to set up Robertson when he could have shot it himself for the Hattrick.

One thing I noticed about Robertson is that he fumbles the puck a lot.

Willy 5 goals in 6 games and a +5 to boot.
Only 4 players have more than 5 goals.

McMann +7 in 5 games, Domi +6. The second line is firing without their 2nd best centerman Tavares on it.
McMann and Domi both have speed. Tavares and Nylander are both shooters.
I can see why the coach wants to play Domi with Nylander since he is pass first.
Top 2 lines Leafs appear to have found their left wingers in Knies and McMann. Speed, size, and can shoot.
Pacioretty 2 goals in 4 games. Robertson 0 goals 0 assists in 6 games.

Tbh Pacioretty has been a steal. This guy stays healthy, and (next to Stolarz), looks like Treviling's best signing.
I'm rooting for Nick to do well this year. He's got a real opportunity considering how thin the Leafs are at LW this year.

Also, anyone else notice Tanev will block any shot? That guy would block a shot with his crotch if he thought that'd clog a passing lane. Beast - hope he doesn't put too many miles on before his contract runs out (he probably will)
