For the series to continue Woll has to be at his best and the power play has to make an impact. Their ineptness as I see it stems from the lack of a competent point man, someone who has the ability to shoot through with power and accuracy to create rebounds and tip ins. Vast majority of their plays are from the sides and that makes it easy for the other team to defend.
Their PP has been awfully brutal going 1 for 17 in this series. They got to shoot the puck more and crash the net
Doesn't help any that the Bruins goaltending is fantastic.

I’ve done my share of questioning and criticizing certain individual players’ heart and grit , but I don’t think it’s fair to paint the whole team with the same brush that they don’t want to win. I have no complaints about the efforts from the games I’ve watched in this playoffs, I see the Leaf players wanting to win just as much and the reasons they’re down are 1) Boston’s goaltending was superior prior to game 5, and 2) the pp sucks.
TB PP best in the league have shooters everywhere. They have Hedman up top. Stamkos on one side for one timers and Kucherov on the other who can also do one timers. Because Kucherov can shoot it sets him up also to make plays. He can pass to Point in the high slot or Paul down low net front for tap in. They also have quick puck movement.
Florida uses Rienhart similar to how TB uses Point. In the high slot which is prime shooting area. Toronto doesn't use this setup. Hence no high danger shots from the slot.
Leafs on the other hand have Rielly up top who can't take slap shots. Hence why they acquired Klingberg who was a bust all around. They also used Tyson Barrie when he was around. Leafs also used Nylander up top and placed Rielly on the side boards which says a whole lot of what they think of Rielly. Marner doesn't have the one timer shot that Kucherov has so he plays down low behind the goal line. Matthews plays where Kucherov plays but he's soley there to shoot which makes him easier to defend against. First game against Boston they had Matthew do what Kucherov does and pass down low for tap ins. He never shot once on the PP. Leafs PP is very tentative. Very slow puck movement. Boston's on the other hand has very quick puck movement which opens up lanes.
Nylander didn't play first few games so missing a shooter there and now Matthews their best shooter. So Rielly is not a shooter. Can't really say Marner is a shooter. They play Tavares net front so he's not in a shooting position. It's really only Nylander and Matthews shooting and Leafs only had them together for 2 periods.

They also called up Marshall Rifai Alex Steeves Nick Abruzzese Topi Niemela Maxime Lajoie Mikko Kokkonen Dennis Hildeby Dylan Gambrell so let's not get too excited on this one.
All the highly paid Leafs forwards have not been producing. The low paying players such as Woll, Knies are all performing really well. They need to get rid of some of the high paid non performing players such as Tarvares and pay players such as Woll and Knies much better. Samsonov is not worth what he is paid. Let him go too.
