Sadlythe Leafs lost to the NJ Devils 6:5. The consolation prize is Matthew scored his 67th and 68th goals. Oneaord to 70th

I have to give Tie Domi credit. Whenever his boy, Max, gets into a fight the cameras focus on Tie after the fight. Instead of whooping it up, cheering, and clapping he sits still showing no emotion. In fact, he actually looks unhappy that Max has gotten into a fight. I think his reaction is exactly what it should be.
No message was sent. Max is a clown just like his dad. He attacked a rookie player for no reason. Wait until playoff time he'll get his lumps.

I agree, but last night the whole defence stunk. Great pass by Giordano.......too bad it wasn't to one of his teammates.
No one was messing with Mathews. They battled for the puck and Mathews won. Domi out of nowhere sucker punched him when he was nowhere near Mathews.
Bottom line, regardless of the circumstance or the outcome, a Devil had to defend himself. THE message was sent. If you can't understand that, that's on you.
The message’s intended recipient was the Panthers. There were several reasons why the Leafs lost to the Panthers last year, one of which was that they got pushed around and didn handle the physicality well. This reaction, along with Rielly’s earlier high stick to the Sens player for smashing in an empty net goal, and Reaves’ reason physical plays were all messages, I hope, to the Leafs themselves and to the next playoff opponent, that they are not going to lose because they are intimidated.
As I said that was only one of several key factors, goaltending, core players‘ performance, specialty teams will be the determining factors as well, but not being tough enough will not be, hopefully.
The last regular season game against the Panther could be dynamite .
Max will get his head pounded in if he tries that with any of the Panthers tough guys. The Leafs also had a scoring chance to tie the game right before this and Domi getting a penalty for it.
