Thanks. Never really noticed these nuanced aspects of Slick Willy's game before.
Sensing some, or a lot, of sarcasm.

Just my opinion and not fact, it drives me crazy when the points stats are taken about with Willy. Just watch him, he never engages. I am convinced its just who he is ,....mega talented game breaker who just doesn't care and wants to be paid. If the worst team in the league, in the city where no one cares about hockey, offered him the money he is looking for, he would take it.

Its below the threshold for counting against the salary cap if they dump him to the minors.
So no salary cap implications for a decent 3rd goalie I suppose.

One of the advances the Leafs have as a richer team is they can pay 3rd goalies in full NHL Money rather than offering them 2 way contracts. Obviously that was attractive to Jones since nobody viewed him as a NHL starter or backup at this point, and probably not many teams offered him a fully guaranteed NHL contract.

Wow!!! Was Jones that desperate for a contract?

He's guaranteed to play some Leaf games. Injuries happen. Especially to goalies. Woll last year was at best 3rd to start the season. He played in the playoffs.

not always sure...

Jones and Woll would both need to clear waivers to be sent down to the Marlies this year.
Jones started 42 games for the Kraken last year and his save percentage was in the .886 range.
The theory is that Jones hasn't't played well enough to be concerned about losing him on waivers so he's a safe depth contract.

Tragedy. The player the Leafs drafted in 2020 is dead.
