Uhhhh, the fact they are catering to one group of people but not others? What a admirable principle to defend!
What exactly is this noble principle you are willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for?
This is exactly how I feel.Yeah, nothing against Islam or Halal foods but I don't like this growing trend of more and more restaurants offering Halal meat. As a secularist, I don't want to be eating any food with religious affiliations whether Halal or Kosher etc. All for freedom of religion and people being allowed to practice their religion peacefully, but don't want to be forced to eat foods with religious affiliations either.
I only care about how the food is processed. If Halal means a better quality with higher safety standards than I'm all for it.Yeah, nothing against Islam or Halal foods but I don't like this growing trend of more and more restaurants offering Halal meat. it doesn't and it is a barbaric processI only care about how the food is processed. If Halal means a better quality with higher safety standards than I'm all for it.
so what difference does it make to you anyways if you don’t believe in any of that hardship. Neither do I. As long as the food is safe and tasty I don’t care if somebody swung a rubber chicken leg around their head chanting some booga booga words over it.Yeah, nothing against Islam or Halal foods but I don't like this growing trend of more and more restaurants offering Halal meat. All restaurants cater to a certain type of person and group/demographic.Uhhhh, the fact they are catering to one group of people but not others?
Is that okay with you?
So it’s “let’s cater to muslims but screw the Sikh's”
Yeah, I just don't want to eat food blessed by a religious figure. Something doesn't sit right with me, especially if more and more restaurants are switching to religiously affiliated food. What happens when pork / beef is left off the menu by restaurants because they don't want to offend a religious group.I only care about how the food is processed. If Halal means a better quality with higher safety standards than I'm all for it.
Okay that I can see being an issue. But leaving those options off the menu is bad for business. It usually come down to money. Going halal from a business sense is just trying to attract new customers and hope the existing ones keep coming regardless.Yeah, I just don't want to eat food blessed by a religious figure. My last post on this but I don't welcome this since this opens the door to more restaurants adopting a religious tilt in their services and I am not a fan of that. No restaurant caters to any religious sector otherwise they'd be out of business real fast. If Im an atheist & owned a restaurant, if serving Halal meats brought in more business then I'd do it because I'm making more money for me and my business. I couldn't & wouldn't give a damn about religion because my objective is to get more people to buy food at my restaurant and if offering a food option such as Halal meats does that then I'd do it.My last post on this but I don't welcome this since this opens the door to more restaurants adopting a religious tilt in their services and I am not a fan of that. Huh? Switching to Halal is the definition of catering to a religion. No restaurant caters to any religious sector otherwise they'd be out of business real fast. we'll agree to disagree.Huh? Switching to Halal is the definition of catering to a religion.
Edit: and it turns out that was not my last post on this lol.

Then... we will all starve to DEATH!Yeah, I just don't want to eat food blessed by a religious figure. Or rather broadening your market to more people.Huh? Switching to Halal is the definition of catering to a religion.

Right-wingers have reached the point where they don't think a private businesses have the right to operate as they please. If they serve halal or kosher chicken, it's to maximize their profits, not for any other reason.
I could not tell the difference between halal and non-halal chicken and neither could you.
Don't be so fucking stupid.
TBH, I think that asking why here and not in the States is a valid question. What a admirable principle to defend!
