KFC is only serving Halal chicken in their Ontario restaurants

Sorry but KFC any more is awful. When they first opened it was pretty good. The last time I tried KFC was when they opened a new store where I live a few years ago. I tried it and besides being overcooked and greasy, it tasted so-so at best. That's why I go to a locally owned chicken place (M&J's) that's my go to place for chicken. No idea if they do Halal but I'd say no. And they make the best onion rings too!

I make a damn good grilled cheese, myself.

Saute some onions, and fry up a bit of bacon to put on it and then a tall super cold glass of milk to wash it all down.

Basically Halal is a process of killing the animal humanely by cutting it's neck and draining the blood by gravity from the carotid arteries before the animal is moved to the plucking and butchering of the various cuts. Modern Halal plants also will use an electric bath to quickly stun the chicken before the cut so ti doesn't experience the anxiety. Whereas most slaughterhouses use a "bolt " gun to shot it in the head, then continue to let the blood drain while cutting it up. Also, halal memat does not have any of the typical chemicals that chicken processors use to swell up the meat with water to add weight to the protein... to increase the saleable weight.

Also, the birds are less likely to be fed with (waste) meat and other food by-products chicken feed, hormones, antibiotics etc that can't be proven to be Halal. All in all, it's a bit more of a controlled and monitored process.

2 or 3 years ago the loblaws I shop at began selling whole halal chickens.

Started to buy it as the price was lower, and in my humble opinion, the chicken appeared fresher and cooked better.

FYI, when I was young we had a farm with chickens, and also kept some in our yard.

Chicken has been a regular menu item throughout my life, I also cook often for vert 50 years, hence I know a little about it.

The reason you care is that you are against anything Islamic so don't try to backtrack and bullshit. And the other reason you said you were so outraged is that 'they' didn't tell you. Which is likely more bullshit as you only learned of it by Rebel News and never said anything about actually eating it.

Aside from that. restaurants change suppliers and grades of meat on a regular basis and don't advertise that either.

You didn't know anything about Halal checkin before you posted several outrage anger posts. And your brief research since then is equally incomplete. All but the most fundamentalist Clerics accept electrical water bath stunning of the chicken before cutting its neck. The bird has to be alive at the time of neck cutting so that the autonomous nervous system of the heart pumps a few moments to evacuate the blood.
