What kind of team will Indiana be this year ?
Raps play Brooklyn(New Jersey) Nets on Saturday, what do they look like ?
Indiana ? The experts have them between 3 to 5th place in conference ... They aren't a team that would scare Raptor fans when they see them on the schedule .. Brooklyn is being mentioned as one of the top teams in the East . I do think that there are 2 Classes in the East . The Heat and everyone else lol .

It's Oct 31st which means Holloween and What to do with DeRozan ? James Harden has been in the news lately but since DeRozan is in the same draft class as Harden , the question has to be asked to Colengelo and Raptor Fans . DeRozan extension ya or nay and how much $$$ money would you write the chq for to keep him ?

The Toronto Raptors have inextricably tied their future to that of fourth-year swingman DeMar DeRozan.

The Raptors have come to terms with DeRozan on a four-year contract extension. The contract is guaranteed to be worth US$38-million. Incentives could make the deal’s overall value worth US$42-million.

and a depressing loss. Means nothing to be leading for almost the whole second half if you can't close out games. I guess we gotta give that time.

It kinda makes sense. We aren't paying anyone in the 11-20million range, and rightly so. He is a gifted athlete and is getting paid slightly less than Calderon and Bargnani. He did get bigger this year. His shot was on tonight, and kept going to the basket but didn't get any calls tonight. Let's hope it turns out to be a deal. Like I said last year, we can only hope to be something like the Indiana Pacers, unless we can package Calderon and Ed Davis for a more productive wing player.

I just hope his salary isn't going to be how DeRozan is judged and always mentioned everytime he has a bad game . Just look at Jose Calderon ... We all loved him when he came to the Raptors and soon as he started making big money the relationship changed .

I saw some good things last night but, like you, I was disappointed in the end result. Bargnani , tried hard, but he could not defend against West and to me, that was the difference. Pacers without Granger, no excuses , Raps need to win!

Saw some positives...Lowry can't say anything bad. JV double double, great effort, green, but he is going to be damn good!

Biggest disappointment, besides the loss. FIELDS I never saw anything that says he belongs on the starting 5.

Raps need a go to guy for that last shot

I was so impressed with the help defense which was going on ... Wow did they create a lot of turnovers .. My biggest disappointment was Bargs fat ass ... This guy has no lift in those legs and shouldn't have been given the last shot . Sorry if that sounds harsh but he did not come to camp in NBA condition and as a fan that pisses me off .

He's overpaid if he's getting that for 4 years. I'd see him getting at least 7mil a year but 38mil for 4years is too rich for the city. specially if you're just acquired fields and lawry. I hope he overcomes the pressure of getting paid that big and not go "vinny carter" on the Raptors. Jonas let his presence known. He is a good big man and hopefully he improves. so much room to grow for him.

I'd agree with disappointment with the result but I was surprised I wasn't disappointing with the game. There were solid runs of plays and great contributions from some of the new guys. If Jonas has the desire, he could become a beast.

A bunch of people expect the Pacers to be a conference finals team and our no-star team competed well.

I was following the game live on yahoo play-by-play. Raptors offence disappeared in the last 4 minutes of the game. Ironically, given the news of the day, that was when DeRozan seemed to be the go to guy and missed basket after basket.

I was left wondering why were they continuing to use him in that manner, given his overall ineffectiveness.

Calderon had been a steadying influence up to that point and maybe they should have used him more in those last few minutes which proved so critical.

Lovely to see BTW the steals that Anderson and others were making in the middle parts of the game. That must have been embarrassing for the pacers.

In this day of overpaid players, what's one more? When you look at salaries in the league today, I'd say he is on the high side, however, if he were to play anywhere close to the potential he is suppose to have, its a steal. I thiought they may have waited to see how he played this year before offering him the extension/raise.

I commented on this earlier in relation to other salaries on the Raptors, but of all newspapers, the Toronto Sun had a good article comparing his salary to other similar talents in the league who were all getting closer to 7 million/season. It will also be interesting to see if Harden's new contract will be regretted by Houston????

I don't think it was wrong to have Derozan take those shots. He went to the basket each time and got noticeable fouled each time but never got the call. That last possession call should probably have been a jump ball. The TV announces replayed it several times and there was absolutely no way to tell who touched it last. Derozan played pretty well all game and deserved those shots....IMHO.

I do find it amusing that some of the hockey pucks ( Damion Cox ) who now feel the need to follow basketball, just look at the boxscore and see 0 Free throw attempts on DeRozan's column and play scout and blast him . The fact during the preseason he led the team in free throw attemps is ignored cause they just started watching the Raps . Hey the Ref's put away their whistles that night and DeRozan was also not getting any calls . What I want to see from DeRozan is more numbers in other colums of the stat sheet ie using his hops to get boards sometimes.

Stephen Curry 4 years 44
Jrue Holiday four-year, $46 million
Taj Gibson $38 million over four seasons
Ty Lawson four-year $48 million ..

All these guys are in same draft class and no allstars but same range of pay was DeRozan got .

I do think we got DeRozan at a somewhat reasonable price. I would take Curry and Holiday over him in a heartbeat however.

As for our 2010 1st rounder, Mr. Davis, I doubt he'll be a Raptor by the end of the season.
