Bargnani...looked good....not this year, just look at his numbers. It doesn't matter who is in there at the 5, Bargnani's shot percentage is awful he can't or won't rebound and his defense is almost non-existent. We need this guy back to playing like he was before last year's injury. He should be "the guy" not Lowery and DeRozen.
No, He was never "the guy". There was a lot of hype when he was drafted but I saw it more as a marketing strategy to get the fans going. He does have potential and he's got the range but he was never going to be the "go to guy" for the Raps. Not Demar (you don't settle for jumpshots if they give you the lane. you should take the ball to the hoop. you're a 40mil/4yr player. you're not a fading vince Carter), not Fields. Lawry, maybe.

I concur! He never was "the guy" but he was expected to be "the guy". Last year he looked like he was finally starting to get there, then the calf injury. I really hoped he would return to that form but to date he has not.

I think you meant that Bargs should be " the guy " as in 1st scoring option ... not the guy as in franchise player ie the face of the franchise and or leader . After Chris Bosh left Bargs became 1st scoring option on the floor and this year it seems his role has changed . It seems like the offense has changed as in run and gun which is different then the half court offense Calderon ran .

Yes I guess the go to guy would be a better way to describe it,definitely not the franchise player. I just don't see anything from him this year. His shooting is terrible, rebounds are far below what is needed and expected from him.

In the past I have been a big critic. Last year I couldn't believe the improvement and really looked for big things from him for this season. I know we are only 3 games into the season, but to date he has shown little, if anything positive.

Tonight vs the Thunder. I hope he shows up!

You got to believe that if anything can light a fire under Bargs and the other big men on the squad it will be a consistent number of +6 rebound games from Lawry...it may have started to work on Derozan already. Last year seeing Reggie Evans do it didn't mean anything as that was his whole role, but when your point guard consistently outrebounds the front court, its bound to get them going....its an embarassment, and people will keep talking about it

After a Blue Jay season that every pitcher was on the DL .... In the 4th game of the Raps season the star PG goes down in pain .

Does it surprise anyone . He plays all out and throws his body around like another Toronto Sports player Brett Lawrie and what were we saying about him ?

Oklahoma plays defense at a totally different level. I mean literally. Time and time again you can catch Calderon waiting for Westbrook, 3 feet INSIDE the Raptors 3 point line. On the other end Westbrook, leaning forward, like a doberman, 3 feet OUTSIDE Oklahoma's 3 point line. Calderon was thrown right out of any rhythm, whereas Westbrook had his choice of taking uncontested 3 pointers in rhythm or setting up his offense. How does Casey not see this at all????

that differentiates a team that wants to get to the no. 8 playoff spot and a team that wants to win the cup.

Can somebody explain a team who had hardly no training camp last year and with condenced schedule had hardly any practice time but last years club mastered hard working defense and this team gives up 36 points in 1st quarter and did that without the other team having their best player on the floor .

Is it just me but does every big body on other seem like a HOF when they play the Raptors ?
LOL.....Like I said earlier, in the first few games, Pekovic, Lopez and Hibbert all looked like All-Stars against the Raps. I hadn't even heard Pekovic's name before this season and he looks like an ALL STAR playing against the Raps. Actually comparing his stats to Bargnani, he scores 14points per game(50% shooting) and 6 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in 30mins. Bargs scores 17 points(38% shooting), 4.5 boards and 0.5 blocks in 32 minutes of play. Bargs takes about 8 shots/game more than Pekovic otherwise Pekovic would be scoring 20 points per game.

Wow, maybe I'm wrong but from what I've seen, the guy has post up moves, he rebounds well and is as strong as an OX!! The guy is 6'11, 290 pounds and looks powerfull!!! All of our front court players are either not as strong as others or not as athletic. This guy might not jump out of the stadium but he is not going to get pushed around!!!
