Gee, I wonder if Israel would agree to a "permanent" ceasefire if Hamas did actually offer to release all of the hostages, in exchange for a reasonable number of Gazan "detainees".

That, of course, is assuming that most of the remaining Israeli hostages are still alive.

It is hard for me to understand why Hamas is not offering a deal of that nature. I don't understand what advantage holding the hostages is currently doing for Hamas and Gaza in general.

I do believe that Israel would agree at this point. (Not that I believe Hamas would adhere to the ceasefire over the medium to long term...)

If all the hostages were released I don't think Netanyahu would have any further support for continued hostilities in Gaza, both in Israel and from the West.
Why would hamas let the hostages go when the current situation is developing in their favour and they are sitting back and enjoying it?

If what is happening in Gaza looks like "winning", I'd hate to see what "losing" looks like.

Also, we Jews are very used to anti-Semitism. So some non-Jews hate us even more. Who cares...

And the U.S. will never give up the political necessity of having Israel exist in the Middle-East, for a great many reasons.

Climbing the Hamas ladder: IDF kills senior terrorist official in southern Gaza Strip (msn.com)

Akram was a senior official involved in numerous terror attacks
Akram was responsible for planning and executing multiple terror attacks in Israeli territory, as well as directing Hamas activities in the Gaza Strip aimed at harming IDF soldiers during the ground operation.

This announcement comes following the unconfirmed Israeli strike on senior Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps official, Mohammad Reza Zahedi in Damascus earlier this week.

Hamas has been offering that deal for 6 months now.
Ceasefire, return all hostages on both sides and Israel retreat from Gaza.

Its Netanyahu who has declared that he wants to 'finish the job' and kill all of Hamas regardless.
Now its been released that they are using AI to target every male of fighting age in Gaza.

Trying to conflate zionism with the Jewish people is antisemitic.

Israel are the neighbours who broke into your house, forced you to live in the basement for 16 years, then when you tried to break out they decided to kill you, your family and everyone you know.
So you are agreeing that Israel is just a neighbour and therefore you are abandoning your laughable "wife beater defence" rhetoric. They can't be both a neighbour and a husband.

Since we agree that Israel is not the husband and the Gazans are getting beaten by their husband, as I said before, Hamas is the wife beater.

Sure, good point.
Israel is like the wife beater and like the the worst neighbour ever.

Nothing Hamas has ever done comes anywhere near to stealing homes, apartheid and now genocide.
Zionists are the worst humans on the planet right now.
