Israel at war

Like many North American Jews, I'm horrified by what is still going on in Gaza.

That said, I put the blame squarely on Hamas and their followers.

Israel has shown in the past that they will not tolerate hostages being taken. In 2011, many years ago, they traded over 1,000 Palestinian detainees in exchange for 1 single Israeli soldier, Gilad Shalit, who was being held in Gaza.

In what world did Hamas think that Israel would tolerate over 100 hostages being taken, on top of the grotesque slaughter of innocents that took place on Oct. 7?

Hamas could end this by negotiating a total Israeli hostage exchange for a reasonable number of Gazan detainees, plus a long-term ceasefire.

But no, based on Israel's original mistake of exchanging a ridiculous number of detainees in exchange for that one Israeli prisoner, Hamas is foolish enough to believe that they will again be able to negotiate such a one-sided deal.

Netanyahu will not cave to international pressure, and a day or two ago the US confirmed it would veto any UN Security Council ceasefire resolution.

Egypt is fortifying its Rafah border, as they, like most other Arab countries, don't want to accept any Palestinian refugees, realizing how radicalized they are and how much trouble they have and will cause if allowed into their stable countries.

There is a path to peace, and there could be a long-term, if not permanent, ceasefire. Gaza could rebuild, and actually use foreign and charitable aid for positive gains that would benefit Gazan civilians, rather than to buy more weapons and build more underground tunnels, not to mention enriching the bank accounts of the top Hamas leaders.

Yes, I'm horrified by what I see on the news and other media. But at this point its up to Hamas to end it by negotiating reasonably and in good faith.

Hamas is waiting for Israel to enter Rafah so they can get maximum civilian casualties and show the world how evil Israel is, and how they are the good guys.

Its all bullshit of course, but bleeding heart Libtards will fall for it

Hamas has offered to return all the hostages as part of a ceasefire, Netanyahu refused and declared he wanted a final solution.
The continuing genocide and the impending end of zionism is all on Netanyahu.

Here he is declaring he will never allow peace or the two state solution.

Not sure if still happening to-day but Iran used to hire Palestinian men to beat up Iranian protestors.

How many detainees/prisoners were Hamas demanding in exchange for the < 100 remaining Israeli hostages?

Even at the original 3 for 1 Hamas reneged on the deal after getting the agreed number of Gazan detainees back. Not very trustworthy, methinks...

I believe they are asking for 10,000 freedom fighters who have been blowing up buses and stabbing people

Hamas didn't renege, Israel did. They went and rearrested a number of prisoners after Netanyahu ended the truce.
There are more reports of rape and torture in Israeli prisons.

Palestinian Commission of Detainees’ Affairs says dozens from Gaza have died in Israeli prisons

Qaddura Fares, head of the Commission of Detainees’ Affairs, made these points:

Israelis are still blocking food and medicine from Gaza, this is very nazi like.
Israeli forces kill, wound Palestinians waiting for food aid in Gaza

The colonization is speeding up.
Illegal Israeli settlements are expanding faster than ever

Back to pushing the idea that you think Palestinians are 'savages' or 'cockroaches' or something that requires them to be kept in a concentration camp?
I think it would be unfair to treat all Palestinians the same. One should look at how radicalized they are before deciding where they should be kept

You gonna apply that to extremist settlers and zionists too?
How about every single war criminal IDF?
How about war criminal zionist leaders?
Definitely don’t mind if it applies to extremist settlers or war criminals
