The two carrier groups are there to specifically supply USA special forces to rescue USA citizens in Gaza. Hence that is why they primarily used him. But he is also quite capable of adding sage advice on other operations, after Mosul. That helped set new standards, especially on mistakes made. And no doubt Isael watched and wargamed what occured there with USA personal long before Oct 7th.I don't care. I'm still going to trust my experience over yours whether you believe I have it or not.
Having an advisor and doing what the advisor suggests are 2 different things.
"We have asked several officials with relevant experience simply to help Israeli officials think through the difficult questions ahead and explore their options. The IDF will, as always, make its own decisions," a Pentagon spokesperson told Axios.
I've yet to say anyone suggest that General Glynn had advised them to engage in an unrestricted air campaign carpet bombing schools and hospitals. In fact, I suggested special forces and you've claimed that's silly. General Flynn's highest ranking command was when he was in charge of MARSOC, which is the USMC Special Forces. His other recent experience is in training and education. Do you think he's advising Israel on how to teach, or do you think it's more likely he's there offering advice on special forces? Hmm?
Especially since they said "ahead". As in "not what they're currently doing".
If only there was a group of soldiers within the forces that's specially trained to deal with those scenarios. They be a pretty specialized force. I wonder what we would call a force that's got special training like that... I suspect it would have the words "special" and "forces" somewhere in the title....
PS. You never explained why you think they don't have Iron Dome. Care to do that?
Yes. I agree (except maybe for the "supplies for months" and "trained" part). Doesn't change anything I said.
As I've repeated many times, Hamas is a terrorist organization and its members should be hunted down and executed. You don't have to keep bringing up how evil Hamas is in response to me as if that's news and I'm denying it; I've acknowledged that. I'm suggesting killing someone's family and destroying someone's home because you think that will convince them to like you and hate your enemy is not going to have that desired effect, in direct response to posts that have said it would.
Now you can keep trying to divert it you want to, but that's the point I've been trying to make. Can you explain how killing someone's family and destroying their house is going to make them love you and hate your enemy? Can you give an example of where that strategy has ever worked?
Working in the motor pool doesn't make one an expert.DM, genuinely has military experience. If you read his posts, you'd know this.
So basically you are purporting to have the ability to read his mind based on your small sample size. What percentage of Israelis have that view? Any polls to reference or just your admittedly anecdotal evidence?I also posted several videos on another thread called the "Ask Project". Give it a watch. Those are street interviews by Corey Gil-Shuster, who is Canadian-Israeli, and teaches in Israel, in the area of Conflict Management. It gives you an idea of racism within Israel. Now the Palestinians are no slouches either. However, prevailing Israeli attitudes, combined with observed behaviours within my own friends circle, and videos of regular people I have watched online, definitely creates doubt on what Yoav Gallant was referring to. So it isn't as "clear" as you think it is, which is why there is an investigation that is ongoing.
Wasn't I mentioning conflicts erupt occasionally? Israelis are no angels...do I support every action they make? fuck no....there's anger on both sides....probably why palestinians voted Hamas in....getting the false sense of secuity that they will be the Knights in shining armor the the palestinian plight...we can keep moving back and forth on the date but the mandate for 2 state is an eye opener for Israel to see who their neighbors are...the question here is why reject the peace offered? 1929, 1948, 1967 post war? Try living next door to the guy you know will slit your throat literally with every chance....The Balfour declaration itself should not have happened because if you think about it, the Zionists back in the day, got a homeland for themselves through playing politics in Europe. Basically UK took land that did not belong to them (they were colonizers and therefore the lands they occupied were not theirs to dole out to someone else), and gave it to someone else that did not even live there, without consulting people who actually lived there and had been for centuries. So Israel does not have very many legitimate reasons to even exist, except for colonial politics of the 20th century. But this is ancient history now, and no longer relevant to ponder on, because reality is Israel exists today and the people there have their identities, families, homes, businesses and so on tied to that country. So it has now become legitimate because of time. Its similar to the USA or Canada. People here were colonizers of Native American land. But now these are legitimate countries, because enough time has passed.
But the land stealing I am referring to is since 1967. They have repeatedly built settlements, forced Palestinians out of their homes, and now what the Palestinians have left are a few enclaves that don't have territorial contiguity, where they don't have control of their lands, airspace, movement, rights or resources. An Israeli settler who attacks and burns a Palestinian home or a field, or kills a Palestinian is tried by Israeli civil and criminal law, while the Palestinians are tried per the military court system that falls short of international standards for the conduct of fair trials and administration of justice. I will stop here, but there is tons more on how the Israelis mistreat Palestinians. It is a horrendous existence for them. Just read up about apartheid in Israel and you will see. Here is an example:
PS: That first lady is so annoying though. Just speak your mind! I can see it in your eyes you feel its justified instead of beating about the bush!![]()
i'm flabbergasted...
It was a shit show on both sides and a lot of players involved as to why nothing fruitful came of it....It is not just the Arabs who rejected peace. Israel also went back several times on its word to not build settlements and kept expanding. The mistake is on both sides.
I'm sure that frank will step forward and answer every single question.Maybe I am missing it but I would love to see the Hamas leader sit down for a press conference and explain what was going on in their tiny minds when they decided to enact October 7th?
What did they think they would achieve?
Have they achieved it?
What did they think would happen?
Did it happen?
Did they really think it through and consider the possibility of the outcome?
When they launched a raid into Israel, did they prepare by making sure the hospitals food and water supplies would be ok?
Shine on you crazy Diamond....
Explain please.
You sound surprised. This about 10 attacks a day.
