Is the Kessel trade the greatest fleecing in NHL history?

it wasn't a problem with the Boston defense or goaltending. It was their non-existent offense.

Price stopped the Bruin offense. The Bruins could easily have 7-8 goals if not for Price.

As a Vancouver fan I would say the Barry Pederson trade was the biggest fleecing. Vancouver gave up future Hall of Famer Cam Neely and a first round draft pick that turn out to be all star defenceman Glen Wesley.

Until the Leafs get a first line Center it will be difficult to judge the trade - because we have not seen Phil at his full potential. He clearly is capable of scoring 40 - but it is not clear if he can score 50.

To give up what's looking like 2 top 5 picks for maybe a 40 goal scorer this is looking like a franchise building trade for the Bruins. The Bruins fleeced the Canucks when they got Neely but this might be even worse. Of couse if Seguin and whoever is the pick this year don't pan out it will be a lot more even but right now this trade is starting to look like Burke's downfall in Toronto

Gilmour only played for the Leafs for abour 5 years these 2 guys could play for 15 years in Boston. To answer my own question we'll probably have to wait 15 years to know but it was certainly a terrible decision by Burke

I love when these old threads are brought back up exposing the "experts" for what they really are. Fans with big mouths who know just as much/little as the next guy.

People can have opinions, just don't make it look like you really know anything more than anyone else. A simple "IMO" or "I think" or "maybe" goes a long way to help you not look foolish.

I think the Toronto fans are stronger. I predict no more "thank you Seguin" for the rest of the playoffs.

All great points but can we let the series play out before people post " I told you type of posts " . I do a recall the Bruins were on the verge of losing a series once and Seguin posted a 4 point game and saved the series and eventually the Bruins went on to win the Cup .
