Damn maybe you should be a political spinner --- just so you know THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS UNOFFICIAL POLICY Either a Government has a policy on an issue or it doesn't. All you have here is a lunitic spitting into the wind ... it is meaningless and with every post you show an idiotic bias that adds nothing to a rational debate or add anything to your credibility.
Not at all true.
If wikileaks has revealed one thing, its that what is said as official policy to the press is not necessarily the policy that will be enacted.

Except that all of us have done the same as the Israeli government and condemned those wacko rabbis as racist jackasses.

Yet you somehow continue to defend the Iranian government as models of rights respecting democracy.

Flubber, do you have ANY idea how dumb that is?

I'm amused by how angry this is making the crowd here.

Here's the deal.
This isn't one Rabbi, its a 30 Rabbi's and its their wives and the population is listening enough that Barak had to say this:
Defense Minister Ehud Barak warned on Wednesday that anti-Arab letters signed by rabbis and wives' of rabbis would lead to a wave of racism that would threaten to "take over" Israeli society.
http://www.haaretz.com/news/national/barak-anti-arab-letters-by-rabbis-and-rabbis-wives-leading-israel-into-dark-place-1.334093

This is in response to two calls, to not lease to arabs and to not date arabs.
Now, its heartening to hear Barak speak out against such blatant racism, however, the same article I'm quoting from suggests that about half the jewish population of Israel supports these views:
The letter was published shortly after a new survey revealed that a full 44% of Israeli Jews support a letter issued by rabbis earlier this month forbidding the sale or rental of properties to non-Jews in the city of Safed. The survey reported that 48% of Israeli Jews oppose the rabbis' religious edict.
When you have about half the country supporting these calls, its not hard to say that they can or are becoming an unofficial policy. Unless the gov't comes out hard against them, they will start to be enacted. And I'm waiting for more then mere statements saying they are against these two calls, I'm waiting for the gov't to say there are penalties if you enact these calls. Until then, its a mere 'tut tut' or slap on the wrist.

In other words--it's not the government of Israel, and we've seen in the Israeli press a fair reaction against it as well. If it was the views of the majority in Israel you would think that in such a strong democracy as that it would become government policy. Obviously it hasn't.

Or put another way--In your desperate attempt to hurl bile at Israel you lied, twisted, and distorted things once again, just as you always do.

I wonder what the other 355 Rabbis leaders and their wives of course have to say about this nut bar. Sounds like a ground swell of support for him. Of course we all know how much influence wives have in orthodox communities.

Lied?
I quoted from an article which backed up my point.
About half of Israeli jews back these racist policies.

How did I twist that?

When you claimed it was official Israel policy. BTW again you to take liberties with the truth and claim it's 30 Rabbi's ... what it really was one Rabbi who started this and a bunch of Rabbi's jumping in after the fact to support him after the Government referred the matter to the Israel Justice Department.
I never said it was official policy.
I said it was unofficial, big difference.

And until Israel makes such actions illegal, they are just feigning offense.

You fibber flubber ... in post 48 you say this

We know the context here is to point to a official policy supported by both Governments on the respective issue. Again a lie of omission is still a

I'll admit it wasn't clear, but I did not say it was official policy at any point.
But go ahead, try to derail the argument by getting worked up by semantics.

This is just another step in the slow road to a racist state, practicing ethnic cleansing.
Doesn't this kind of announcement and poll worry you just a little?

Weak flub. Just admit you were wrong.

You wrote this: Iran bans Valentines, Israel bans renting apartments to Palestinians

You clearly wrote that you thought Israel had banned renting apartments to Palestinians. In fact Israel did no such thing. There is no ban. There is just some dude with no power to do anything going around mouthing off--he does not speak for Israel.

You were just flat out wrong and you can't bring yourself to admit it.

But ok, just keep wriggling and squirming and worming, you don't have any credibility left to lose anyway.

the number of islamics here is pretty large.

It is a shame they seldom learn anything when it comes to Christians and Jews.

BTW should a good muslim be here?

After all porking is something we do.

Weak flub. Just admit you were wrong.

You wrote this: Iran bans Valentines, Israel bans renting apartments to Palestinians
The call was made by 18 prominent Rabbi's who are all municipal employees of the state.
They are representatives of the government.

It has since been signed by 50 more Rabbi's, who are also all employees of the state and another 150 or so.
The total signing it is now 250.

Hundreds of Israeli rabbis have signed a religious edict forbidding Jews from renting or selling homes or land to Arabs and other non-Jews. The public letter instructs Jews to "ostracise" those who disobey the order, which is widely viewed as an attack on the country's Palestinian citizens.

When the decree was announced on Tuesday, it had been signed by 50 rabbis, many of who are employed by the state of Israel as municipal religious leaders. Despite sharp public criticism, another 250 rabbis have added their names to the proclamation.
http://english.aljazeera.net/indepth/features/2010/12/2010121015160984116.html

And while the gov't has said its wrong, there has been no investigation.
From further in the same article:

On Thursday, the attorney general issued a statement calling the rabbis' edict "problematic" and "inappropriate for public officials". It also said it would examine whether or not the rabbis' actions were against the law.

Still, the attorney general did not launch a formal investigation. Nor did he sanction the rabbis.
And again, from the article:

Some landlords have refused Arab tenants for years, Gordon added. "It's not new. What's new is the feeling that one can express this [without] shame ... and when you lose shame you've reached an extremely dangerous situation."

I stand by my statements.

Flub is doing more to discredit Palestinian propaganda than I could ever do. AIPAC or whoever should put him on TV.
