As long as Steak and Blowjob day is still a go. I'm ok with that lol...
I'm pretty sure that if you want to celebrate that one in Israel no-one will stop you. The mullahs in Iran, however, might take issue with it. I don't think they have released a Fatwa against it yet--but maybe that's only because nobody has asked.

So Israel doesn't ban Valentines day, they do:
Ban iPads
Enforce Jewish holidays on the west bank
http://www.maannews.net/eng/ViewDetails.aspx?ID=264343
But most importantly are still banning enough items, food, exports and imports from Gaza that another flotilla has landed in Egypt to deliver aid and the Rachel Corrie is being outfitted for its next mission. I'd say banning concrete to fix schools and hospital is way more grievous then banning Valentine's day, wouldn't you agree Fuji?

Citation needed - since when can't you have an iPad in Israel?? I sense there's a flubby topic change here and that you're probably talking about the occupied territoreis now and not Israel, hoping nobody noticed you trying to pull the wool over our eyes.

The ban is over now, now that the threat has died down.
ha.

I'm still waiting for your answer, which is worse: Banning valentines day or banning concrete?

Of course it's over, but that wasn't your point. You were making it sound like it still existed using an old reference. Then when it was pointed out that you were wrong, you backpedaled and changed course. Do you really think the threat is over? I don't.

You're still trying to say that many these convoys are not being used to get contraband into the region under the guise of humanitarian relief and that the flotilla that was stopped and a battle ensued was purely humanitarian. If i remember, there were outdated medical supplies. They were useful weren't they?

He also made it sound like it was banned for political reasons, when it was just an FCC type spat over appropriate certifications for its radio.

What a con man this flubber is, always trying to pull the wool over everyone's eyes.

Apparently they have concrete to build fancy shopping malls in Gaza.
Let's get a little perspective. The UN gave nearly $200 million in aid to Gaza in just the six months following Operation Cast Lead. It only gave $10 million in aid to Haiti following the devastating earthquake. Good old UN. (Not)

Both Countries ban Christmas :D

kf1
Nope. You can celebrate Christmas in Israel. The state doesn't make it an official holiday, but they don't BAN it. You can buy and sell Christmas related items, dress up like Santa, put a wreath on your door, go to Christmas mass, the whole deal--you just have to take your own vacation to do it, the way that Jews and Muslims in Canada have to take their own vacation to celebrate their religious holidays here.

Iran has actually banned Valentine's day, going so far as to prevent stores from selling items related to Valentines.

Banned.

That's true. Given the absence of any sort of real humanitarian crisis in Gaza, and the existence of very real crises in other places, it does indeed seem that Gaza gets a grossly disproportionate share of world aid.

Moreover the Haitians didn't cause the earthquake or cause the cholera that is wiping them out, they're basically victims of natural disaster and plague. The folks in Gaza are more or less directly responsible for their own economic condition.

Well in the sense of who gives a fuck about Iran generally I agree with you. The only really important thing is to make sure those fanatics don't get nuclear weapons.

Since when did iPad day get declared a holiday?
(the actual story is they temporarily did over issues with wifi protocols).

As for the rest, a pathetic attempt to change the topic and a complete distortion of truth (but what else is new).
(for those who don't want to bother reading, Israel closed the border to travel over the holiday - no one was forcing Palestinians to celebrate or even acknowledge it - it is exact same as Canada closing all banks and government offices for Christmas and Easter).

Since flub wants to talk about freedom of religion in Israel, can he explain why Israel has given complete jurisdiction over Judaism's holiest site to a Muslim agency? I'm sure it's just part of the plot before the Mossad vultures take it over.

You call that snazzy? What shithole do you live in? You can obtain concrete in Gaza, but it must be for pre approved projects and purchased (at a huge premium) from Israeli approved suppliers. Not a big deal for a major project, but very difficult for people who just wanted to fix the hole the Israelis made in their house when they killed the children.....

NUCLEAR WEAPONS & VALENTINES DAY ... HOW THE HELL DO YOU EQUATE THE TWO!!!
I don't equate the two. You said who cares about Iran, and I agreed with you, but also pointed out the only thing I really care about Iran, which is not that they ban Valentine's day.

So pray tell, then why did you start the frigging idiotic thread in the first place?

You're repeating a question, one that was already answered back in post #15.
So banning Valentine's Day is relevant proof that Iran is an intolerant shit hole? You've been arguing with flub too long, your brain is starting to leak.
