We all know that the right are among the biggest hypocrites with regards to the sex industry. It's all show. They'll talk about morals and propose a few laws but that's about it. Remember that US evanglical preacher (Swaggart?) who was busted for sleeping with prostitutes?

I'll bet Harper has had more than just a lap dance in his time

There really is nothing I can add to this seeping morass of name calling, scare tactics and disinformation.
A brief look back at recent history tells us what we need to know. A conservative government will oversee our slide into a recession, destroying our governments ability to work in a surplus generating capacity and after five or ten years the liberals will come back into power and have to dig us out from under a mountain of deficit.

Forget the red herrings of "IDEAS" and follow the money. Martin is a very successful businessman who runs a nation. Harper is what? Certainly not a millionaire. If he can't make a sucess of himself in private life how the heck is he going to make Canada one.

I vote for the rich Liberal rather than the poor Conservative.

I think this is one of the reasons why some people like Harper...

Right, like how Mike Harris brought us back from one of the biggest deficits in history to a surplus. Or how Mulroney did much of the groundwork in cleaning up Trudeau's mess.

Yeah, it's too bad. For the first time in decades, the Liberals don't have a career politician as leader and he's going to be dumped.

Well given that he's overseen a huge run up in government surplus, I think he knows what he's doing. Harper doesn't.

Harris cleaned up deficit? You mean the one that Bill Davis left us and everyone has had to deal with.

I'm glad someone has the balls to bring up Mulroney. I'm sure we'll see pictures of Harper kissing Bush's ass and singing songs together. The rest of the world will puke.

Anyone still think Free Trade was a good idea. Most of the people who signed it don't.

How can we even hope to trade fairly with the biggest bully on the planet.
If they don't like something they don't do it, end of discussion.
Even huge companies like GM have stated that Canada's health care system makes it cheaper to do business here than in the US.

I agree Martin knows what he's doing. So does Harper, he's more of a deficit hawk than many of the old PCs.

No....I mean the annual Bob Rae deficits of $10 billion. He more than doubled our debt in just 5 years.

In spite of the trade disputes Free Trade is still popular. The last major politician to campaign against it was Chretien, but thank god it was just one of his many lies.

Bush is an asshole and he'll be gone in two years, but yes i woud like to see Harper singing with John McCain hopefully the next Republican President, or even Hilary.

Bush is an asshole, the free trade agreement was a great deal, until Bush!!

The Americans have done more damage to themselves believe it or not, if they can't trade fair with us, no other country will want to trade with them.

I doubt that is why they are here in Canada, I have a feeling it is due to the Quality of a car that comes out of Oshawa, and because we are cheap.

as for Harper not being a succesful in life, ah I think being an economics lecturer at the University of Calgary is amount to being succesful or dont the Fiberals only count racist Harvard profs as being intellectuals and worthy

You do realize that that a greater proportion of CPC MPs are visable minorities than is the case of any other party in parliament.

In a van down by the river
I live in Canada but i can't vote....yet.

Here is my two cents.

1) There is no way in hell that Canada will go conservative(as much as I want it). The culture of entitlements and goverment wellfare is way too much entrenched in to the Canadian psyche.
Looking around in the circle of Canadian friends I have. 7 out of 10 believe that the goverment is the solution to most of the problems.

2) Watch in the remaining week before the elections, for the goverment funded media to increase the anti Harper rhetoric. Sometimes blatently obvious and sometimes more subtle.
Words like "hidden agenda" "right wing conservative" "Christian right" will flood the airways. Look for references to the USA and Bush.
This will scare the sh*t out of those still sitting on the fence.

3)Sorry to all my Canadian conservative friends, but Harper just doesn't have charisma. He comes across like a boring accountant, rather than an inspiring leader.
If with all the surrounding scandals of the liberals, all he can muster is a small minority goverment???? What does it tell you about his message and his appeal?

4) I even believe that the latest polls are fraudulent. They are designed to rally the left of center vote, by scaring people that a conservative goverment is on the horizon.

those are my opinions...i hope i am wrong.

You were actually being persuasive until you stuck in the gratuitous "racist" and the no longer clever "Fiberal". How often people trying to make a point defeat themselves. We'll all do better without the insults, just try.

Please coorect my mistaken impression that Harris left politics running a deficit and that Mulroney did likewise. Actual numbers with reference to the source from which you got them. Otherwise, I and many others, will continue to believe just that: Tories do deficits w/ the best of them, just as Republicans do down south.

minorties, women, there is an MP from Manitoba who is a quadrapelgic, basically a cross section of Canadian society, the old hack Liberal argument that they put across to us first generation immigrants that you came here because a Liberal government allowed you to and you should be grateful and always vote for us, is old and getting really condascending
