hey fellow terbites I am a product of this wonderful economy I lost my job today due to the company down sizing. I don't know if the board will allow me to do this but if there is anyone out there who needs a good controller for his or her company I would appreciate the opportunity. I honestly can;t afford to be out of work.. even though your know what my hobby is lol

Yes! I agree there are of the accounting jobs out there.
Yes, I do agree with Ivan that there are a lot of accounting and finance jobs out there. After all, I have apply to more than 300 jobs in 10 weeks and produced 5 job offers.
I was also layoff too in middle of March.
My secret of success is "Networking" and spends at 10 hours a day for 5 days a week for job searching. After all, it's a full-time job. There is no shortcut.
I have to admit that employers are very specific on what they are looking for. A candidate have to at least almost 90% of the qualifications on what they are looking for before they have a chance to land a job interview.
The employers are extremely picky and they can afford to be as a typical Workopolis ad usually attract 600 to 1,000 applications for a open position.
I don't want discourage anyone on the tight labour condition. But it is the reality of the situation.
Anyways, good luck on for those who are unemployed.
If you work hard and smart, a person should able to find a job in 3 months in the accounting and finance field.

I guess I shouldn't complain then...first we gave back 5%, then it started as a 4 day week, now next month it's 6 days off for the month. We did sign up for the Work-Share program with the gov't but haven't seen any money yet.
