I JUST REALIZED I AM NO LONGER A LEAFS FAN! I never cheered so hard for the Islanders before in my life...
did anyone feel like reaching thru the tv and choking that over paid bum yashin. they showed him going down the hallway after the game laughing it up like he really did something. all that money and i barely heard his name mentioned today. the heart and soul of that team are guys like blake, witt, sillinger and i suppose smyth as well. seems he just takes up a spot on the bench now even though he actually had over 16 minutes of ice time.
The good doc's condolences to the Leafs fan, not the Leafs team though. For they shut their own door to the playoffs and they have themselves to blame. As a consolation to the playoff starved Leafs fan, look for the Sabres to turn on their jet engine and strip the Islanders naked in the playoffs.

LOL!!!hey, Yashin actually did play a big part in that game if you watched... he had a nice hit on Martin and probably finished a +1 or something and he had atleast 2 scoring chances (which against the devils is something to notice)...

There is a part of me that is glad that this is over. I think that the Sabres would of killed us, even though we played them well at times this year.
Raycroft and McCabe took a lot the fun out of watching this year. Every year I have 2 guys I just can't stand. Last year it was Berg and Antropov. The year before it was Reichel and Berg.
I can't help but think about what a difference getting Roberts would of made. Even if they still didn't make it with him, it would of been a nice gift to the fans to see him skate again in B & W.

i disagree jimmy45 its not just those two guys the rest of the sucks to....if sundin returns next year the leafs are going to suck again for another year....bring in a leader with some balls like ryan smith....and another person to stand in front of the net so goalies can't see for the one timers...
where was he when the game was on the line? it seemed everytime the camera panned the bench late in the game, there he was sitting there while the others carried the team. correct he finished plus 1 with 2 shots on goal, 1 hit, 1 giveway, 0 points and only 3 forwards had less even strength time on the ice than this guy. that was the fourth line. doesn't seem like he did a hell of a lot to me. guess how many shifts he had in OT - zero. So he had one maybe two scoring chances? A guy paid like him should get that in every period. Bottom line is Nolan didn't tap him on the shoulder late in the game, in overtime, when it really counted, nor was he among the 3 shooters. If 1 hit and 2 shots (in the biggest game of the season) is considered adding a lot to the team, 7.5 - 8.0 million dollars doesnt get you much does it.21pro said:
Richard Park added more in this game and he played a whopping 5:52, yet managed to dig deep and score both goals. I still say that Yashin is a waste of a body most nights.

At least at the end of last year, we had just seen Aubin prove he could be a quality backup, but Maurice brought the grudge he has against him from the Marlies, and didn't give him enough playing time. The gamble of signing Raycroft hadn't yet happened, there was hope for getting a proven quailty starter.guyroch said:
