What the hell is an easy schedule...

..where the Leafs are concerned???....maybe playing a high school team??...hey this is the Penguins they squeaked out a victory against...they almost blew this one by a 1/2 second at the end of the 1st period ( Is there a team that allows more 1st minute or last minute of period goals) and a goalpost in the last minute...Yea, should be quite a sight when they get their asses handed to them Tuesday vs Carolina...

Understand that Laffs fans are delusional. They have lost all ability to mental sort out reality (early golf) from fantasy (1st round elimination).

I have said it B4, The Star said it B4, anyone not in love with self abuse has said it B4....MLSE does NOT give a rats ass about icing a winning team and they never will care if it is Quinns fault, the players fault or the Zamboni driver's fault. Laffs fans need to get that FACT absorbed into their pea-brains and then they will realize that they should start spending their entertainment dollars on something worthwhile....like pedicures and manicures. As long as they keep buying tickets, Matts Sudin & Tie Dopey jerseys then they will be proving over & over again that BT Barnum was right.... a sucker IS born every minute, especially in Toronto.

Stupid stupid sheeple!

Leafs have a fairly easy schedule?
yes. this is an easy schedule. however, it is the leafs we're talking about...

if you look at the schedule of a comparable team in the west... well we can look at 3...

Vancouver
though 8 of their last 13 games are played at home, it is not to say that they have it easy... just the easiest schedule of these 3 west teams...
11 of their last 13 are against teams with stronger records than themselves... and the other 2 remaining games are against the sharks... they are only 2 points ahead of San Jose...

and Markus Naslund said on the score last night..., 'we better make the best of the advantages this schedule gives us.'... their view is that the remaining schedule is not overbearing...

Anaheim
9 of their last 16 are on the road...
and they play tough teams too...
Dallas 4 times, Predators, Flames 2 times, and rivals Kings twice, and the Sharks.

San Jose:
10 of their last 16 are on the road.. including a 5 game road swing...
against such teams as Detroit, Dallas and rivals Kings, Ducks, Coyotes among some other weaker teams..

now if you really want to calculate level of difficulty, start calculating how many more miles each of these three west conference teams will travel in comparison to the leafs.

Leafs play:
8 road games... all between rests and no lengthy road swing... 7 home games...
the toughest teams they'll play are Carolina, but only once... Buffalo 3 times. they play the flyers twice but they are playing under .500 as of late...

it is a somewhat easy schedule for the leafs. lots of rest time, don't play any of the top 2 teams and little travel incurred. not as easy as montreal, but not anywhere as difficult as it would be to make the 8th spot in the west...

beat the struggling Canes 3-2...

thought telqvist was #1 star, but wasn't even one of the 3 stars...
O'neill gave some effort.
Ondrus had a tough game.
Allison was their best player. IMO - subject to arguement, of course.

though i didn't think the Canadiens played exceptionally well,
Leafs lose 5-1 to the CDNs

nice to see Ondrus trying to make the squad... sadly though, he just isn't up to NHL speed.

Those quick Hab goals really killed us. This game felt like an Ottawa slaughter

Richardson's worst game since returning to the Leafs. drop passes on his clear breakaway, missed coverages, on the ice for how many goals ? He's trying to do too much in recent games. He should just play it simple & stay back. Luke, you reading this ?

...even when the game was 4-0, it wasn't like the Habs were playing a lock down defense, there were plenty of chances for the Leafs to score. Going 5 games without an even strength goal...that is just pathetic...Ondrus certainly is not NHL calibre...but he does have heart, and gives it his all. If 1/2 the players on this team played as hard as Ondrus, they would not be in this preidcament. The season is unofficially over for the Buds. If they lose Saturday, call it official

Hey Kathleen...

...I'm so disappointed to see so many students skipping class....the whole Leaf defense should be in that pic....

I was thinking more of the regulars..

Kathleen said:
Honestly, Kaberle is the only one I can't complain about.

I'd like to see Harrison,Wozniewski , Bell, and Carlo all have regular spots next yr in the line up.
I agree Kaberle is the only defenseman playing decently

Harrison would be alright, he brings some physical aspect to his game, sorely lacking on the Leafs except for Richardson. Carlo could fill McCabe's spot in time. Let McCabe go, take his salary and get 2 soild serviceable defensemen over the offseason...a start to rebuilding this sad sack franchise...

a mccabe could be had, theoretically for a combination of brad stuart's and scott hannan's salaries... so there definitely is a possibility for upgrading defense...

Leafs lose 6-2 to the Canadiens...

where's all the leaf fans? they only come out when their team does well?

BTW- anaheim was where the leafs were 10 games ago .. except in the west.. they since went 9W, 0L and 1 OTL to climb up to 5th in the west... the leafs went 5, 4 and 1... above 500 and still look at the differences that result...

Easy Schedule for Montreal???

Let's cut the crap about "an easy schedule" for the Habs. Of course it's easy. They got to play the Maple Losers twice.

All kidding aside, the teams are supposed to play a balanced schedule. The difference is that, when the Laffs had a so called "easy" schedule (January I believe), they went into the tank.

It's almost a certainty that the Leafs will be golfing in about 3 weeks. Still too early to know which team will finish 8th. If it's the Habs, at least they've beaten Ottawa twice already this year, not something the Toronto team can say.

Oh well, baseball season starts next week.

no, 'D' you're definitely not a wagon jumper ... a wagon jumper would probably 'dis' the current team.

Leafs win 4-3 over New Jersey.

Talk about a costly mistake for Allison... he's missing out on over $3million dollars in bonuses because he decided to get in a fight last weekend!
