Well, that infamous "subway guy" conjured up and approved the LRT Ontario line.Ford wasn't Premier when the Eglinton LRT was approved nor was he in charge when construction for it started. In fact no way Ford would've approved an LRT seeing how he is a subway kind of guy and Eglinton would've been a subway had he had his say. He did okay extending it to Renforth to connect it to Mississauga Transit. Once again FF all talk and no facts. That's all on Peter Verser. Look into his history if you want to see the real reason why The Crosstown LRT has yet to open.

TIMELINE: A brief history of Toronto’s Eglinton Crosstown LRT project
Politicians have fought over what kind of transit to install since 1985www.toronto.com
Ford's LRT Ontario Line as the Eglinton LRT line both utilize above ground and below ground sections.
Neither the "Ford would never have approved" Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the Ford approved Ontario Line LRT are heavy rail subway lines such as the TTC Lines 1 and 2. They are both LRT lines that have sections that are underground.
Ford is wasting billions of dollars on tunneling a new section under Eglinton that doesn't have the ridership there to merit tunneling in his riding for his rich neighbors who poo-poo as only the rich can the very thought of sharing the road with anyone.
You can run eastbound and westbound seaborne supertankers across the Eglinton Ave W. stretch there.
