Ford wasn't Premier when the Eglinton LRT was approved nor was he in charge when construction for it started. In fact no way Ford would've approved an LRT seeing how he is a subway kind of guy and Eglinton would've been a subway had he had his say. He did okay extending it to Renforth to connect it to Mississauga Transit. Once again FF all talk and no facts. That's all on Peter Verser. Look into his history if you want to see the real reason why The Crosstown LRT has yet to open.

Well, that infamous "subway guy" conjured up and approved the LRT Ontario line.

Ford's LRT Ontario Line as the Eglinton LRT line both utilize above ground and below ground sections.

Neither the "Ford would never have approved" Eglinton Crosstown LRT and the Ford approved Ontario Line LRT are heavy rail subway lines such as the TTC Lines 1 and 2. They are both LRT lines that have sections that are underground.

Ford is wasting billions of dollars on tunneling a new section under Eglinton that doesn't have the ridership there to merit tunneling in his riding for his rich neighbors who poo-poo as only the rich can the very thought of sharing the road with anyone.

You can run eastbound and westbound seaborne supertankers across the Eglinton Ave W. stretch there.

So I'll ask again...what relevance do Toronto bike lanes have with Sudbury?
Is someone concerned that when they ride their bike from Sudbury to Toronto in January they'll be unhappy with some bike lanes downtown being removed?
Just like Metropolitan newspapers/ news media does report crimes etc that occurs in Sudbury.
Same relevance........just the news!!

You're seriously comparing murder stories to bike lane stories now?

Use your red/green colour blindness to your advantage by becoming a cyclist.

Meanwhile I’m closing my bicycling season until spring. If you people are happy to bike in this kind of weather more power to you.

You never go skiing? It's out in the cold. People pay good money to get out there in the cold.
Sharing roads with cars is dangerous enough. More so in the winter time. All the more reasons for bike paths in the winter.

You could say the same for many, many motorists.
Worse is that BMW seems to deliver most of their cars with a wasted turn signal system!

<BTW, it was just a joke.... but as a reluctant DT cyclist and motorist, I gotta say that Toronto cyclists are pretty bad. Riding off and on the street, bike lanes and the sidewalk, blowing through traffic signals etc. It's only gotten worse withthese e-bikes and scooter... I long for the dyas of the hipsters on their "Fixies"

I knew someone who bought a BMW, she showed up a bit late to pick it up and missed the free "How to drive like an asshole" course.

Uber eats riders are making it really bad lately.
But the new lanes are putting way more bikes on the streets.
And now they don't want to lose them.

Can you not comprehend that they are just reporting the news?
Can you not comprehend that the news they are reporting has nothing to do with Sudbury and has no relevance to anything about anything that anyone in Sudbury would care about.
It's like a Toronto newspaper reporting on road work going on in Sudbury.

Once again Toronto media does publish news about Sudbury. So what is wrong with the Sudbury media doing the same?
Toronto newspapers do publish news about highway closures on the 401 not just in Toronto, but also in Peel, and Durham. Similarly, they publish news about closures on Highway 400 and 69 just to warn the motorists. Anything wrong with that? What's your issue with it?

Similarly, we have news media like the CP24 that reports news from not only Ontario but Canada and abroad. So I once again do not know what is your beef about it?

Reporting on highways within the GTA is still related to Toronto. Not highway closures that are 6 hours away unless there are deaths and even then you don't usually hear about fatal accidents that far from the city.
Tell me what relevance bike lanes in Toronto have to Sudbury?
Why would someone living in Sudbury care?

Sudbury news media will report about Toronto Mayors and vice versa the Toronto news media regarding the mayor of Sudbury if they have been elected.
I do not see what is your concern if they report about bike lanes in Toronto?
Look at CP24 reporting about deaths from overdose in Sudbury:
