The virus is spreading with or without vaccine...people should know this by now...people should stop blaming unvaxxed as the only cause of the spread...what happens when we have 100% fully vaxxed population and COVID is still spreading? should we lock down as well? locking down and collecting handouts from the government is not the best for the country....

Well, I could use a holiday. I've worked like a fucking dog this last two years. Some "free" money and time at home would be nice.

They aren't the only cause of the spread, they just contribute to it a lot.
Virus spread is a population-wide numbers game. You have to drive the overall transmission rate down below the threshold. That can take a mix of any number of interventions.
A big one of those is vaccinations because it does reduce transmission (both in that you are less likely to get it and less likely to be infectious over as long a period of time). It isn't enough on its own.
Like with the flu, we need lots of additional interventions to slow and reverse a given outbreak.

Same here. It's been pretty rough, but rewarding.

Yes, it does spread among vaccinated, especially this new variant. This variant is also breaking through natural immunity but so far it has been the unvaxxed who are mostly filling up the ICUs. If the hospitals and the medical system become overloaded Ford will be forced to implement lockdowns. If this happens, then yes, I would lay it at the feet of the unvaxxed.

so far it isn't...all we're getting are test results and numbers aren't that far between vaxxed and unvaxxed...it's spreading no matter what...i believe vaccine helps in mitigating symptoms...but doesn't stop the spread...school will close tomorrow...that keeps the kids at home, no need to overreact....

I agree and I think the measured steps with increasing booster capacity is the right move for now albeit the booster ramp-up should have started a month ago.

Actually, the numbers are considering majority of common sense folks are vaxxed.

Which is also stupid and also for the same reasons - they don't want the backlash so they will wait until it is too late.
Same way Trump handled the pandemic down here, even after he got it. Pretty standard knee jerk response for Cons. Remember Herbert Hoover?...

Come on now. You know damn well that you can catch and spread COVID as a vaccinated person. And getting a booster doesn’t change that fact either.
And you know damn well that getting vaxxed, boosted and social distancing measures results in less cases, less sever cases, less hospitalizations, less deaths and a decreased length of time for lockdowns etc., compared to no vax, no booster and no social distancing measures.

As such, you know damn well that aside from being a contrarian your post served no function.

You blamed the unvaxxed for COVID continuing. Just the unvaxxed. Nothing else about lockdowns and stuff so stop piling on new shit.

I posted facts. At 100% vaccinated, COVID would still be here and numbers would still be rising right now. I understand you not liking those facts but it doesn’t change them.

Rising substantially slower and causing far fewer deaths.
Vastly easier to control with other non-pharmaceutical interventions.

The pandemic would be more controllable and less lethal on a vast number of fronts if we had higher vaccination rates.

Everyone arguing that the unvaccinated aren't directly and seriously implicated in the spread, severity, and prolongation of the pandemic is just wrong.

1. What recommendation Doug Ford has said "no" to over the last 20 months?
...
How long a list do you want? Can start with instead of preparing for a second wave, passing laws that protected negligent nursing homes. The other big one is it's taken more than a year and a half for them to start handing out rapid tests in schools. They should have started regular testing at schools last September but like with most other issues, they knew admitting it was a problem would force other expenses they didn't want to incur.

Now I'd much prefer Ford to Rick Santorum or Bolsonaro in Brazil but they have routinely delayed acting for political reasons and manipulating restrictions to benefit their corporate backers.

All the stats show that the vaccine and the booster significantly reduces the chances (and that is obviously a good thing). So yes, the spread of covid is significantly supported by unvaccinated people.

You can not deny the fact that at 100% vaccination, we would still be seeing a rise in cases right now. That is undeniable. You can say what you want, have whatever opinion you want but that fact remains the same and you can’t change that.

That being fact means this virus, at this point, is what is prolonging its life here on earth. Until a cure is found or it kills itself out. The vaccine is not a cure. It is not the saviour of the virus or be all that ends all and carrying on like it is - is wrong.

And the morons who refuse to get vaccinated/boostered are prolonging the whole ordeal.

What do they think will happen with no vax, no booster and no lockdown?
I don’t have covid. I’m not allowed to go anywhere. How exactly am I prolonging anything?

Please, show me the light 😂

Ford and his"people" havent made a move yet bc they need to figure out how to profit off another lockdown first.
But by all means, please do vote him in again this spring, please.
