Lidia Bastianich was born in Pula, Paige Spiranac is second generation American but her family is from Zadar. They should cook together.

Speaking of black pudding....

Then you have to hit the gym for at least an hour afterward.
Sheesh, I could make 3 meals out of that, though I'd go heavier on the tomatoes since the harvest is still ongoing...

Now that's more like it. Not in the usual Terb context, got any Greek?

Americans say Canadians have accents, never noticed it before.

Atlas has had problems with Shepherd's Pie challenges, probably not a good idea to take on an Irish-Canadian from our town and lovely Reina.

Anyone notice an accent?

German food is very under-rated and very filling. I'm not big on potatoes.

Sauerbraten is my dish of preference, apart from the pork hock. The recipe is not entirely authentic, the gravy is made with ground Ginger Snap cookies.

...by not including them, he's making this recipe for mangiacakes.

For those who are confused as to what a mangiacake is, I'll let Russell Peters explain it.

I used to think Jim Cramer was a clown.

But his prognostications beginning with Bear Sterns all became reality. He also didn't hesitate to speak truth to power when he had his meeting with Hank Paulson. From 2008 - 2012, he must have made a killing!

Having spent my earliest years on a farm, there are certain foods I enjoy. People more cultured than myself may find it disgusting.

Hm, I just fired one of those into the toilet. I never thought to cut into it and have a look-see, let alone put it into my mouth.

Bon Appétit

I love meatballs, often make this recipe:

Serve them on a tomato sauce (to which I add chopped onions, red wine and garlic) over pasta. Kids love that!
Fried meatballs are the pits....

Someone in the soccer thread said Crotone makes great cheese. Calabria is the region of strong flavours. For the longest time their Devil's Kiss chilli pepper were dehydrated into pepperoncino flakes. Bobby Flay has taken to using them whole and it's caught on. Pecorino Crotonese is the sharpest of the sheep's milk cheeses. If you buy it at the supermarket and it's not sweating, take a pass.
