Nice to see this thread is alive again! I quoted my own post here because I see they have Hasselback (or accordion) beets in the new fall Food & Drink magazine. Going to try them at Thanksgiving.They call them Hasselback potatoes but I've always called them Accordion potatoes. You can use whatever herbs/spices you want. Or add cheese....Yum!
Don't get me wrong, I love a wide variety food. But I don't understand the fascination with food eating contests. Or watching someone eat as much they can. I find them repulsive.Now that summer is over, thoughts turn to food again.

I make a pretty decent Huevos Rancheros. I basically make them like nachos but with fried eggs and sliced avocado. And I use my homemade refried (pinto) beans. Tabasco on the side.Huevos Rancheros want some but I don't know how to make them.
