My personal preference, when the weather is cold there's nothing better.

Looks delicious! Never heard of putting boiled eggs in a meatloaf before. I do my meatloaf the way my grandma did it...lots of ketchup, onions, and Worcestershire sauce (pronounced Worster sauce by the way - the shire at the end is not pronounced!) lol

Very simple and basic meatloaf but I loved it like that since I was a little kid because my grandma did it like that. :)

Hard boiled egg and some form of salumi is traditional in Italian meatloaf Missy. That's an elaborate recipe, never heard of putting zucchini and cheese before.

Robbie Burns Day is coming up (January 25th)! Don't forget to order your haggis! https://thehealthybutcher.com/haggis-housemade.html

I might be in the minority here but I actually like Haggis. Of course, you can't really get the real thing here - unless you get it fresh from a place like the Healthy Butcher (I'll have to try theirs!). All the canned stuff imported to North America is missing the lungs - which are banned for import in Canada and the US. I'm ok with that though (although purists will say that it's not real haggis without). I like it sliced and fried with an egg - sunny side up on top. If you've ever been to a Jewish Deli and had Kishka - it's similar, especially in texture (good with a brown gravy too).

As a farmaioli, respected by Take Out Cat, I was raised on curatelle. All of the children raised on that farm grew up without allergies. When you slaughter an animal you waste nothing. I love haggis, delicioso!

The spelling is wrong but the recipe is correct.

The perfect winter food...if you don't like Worcestershire Sauce you don't like life. Root vegetables are best for Shepperd's Pie - Marco ************ White doesn't lie. Ok it's Marco Pietro White if it bothers you!

Mario Batali has been disgraced for inappropriate touching, but he has trained a number of female chefs. Food Network star Anne Burrell is the most obvious example. I'm not entirely sure but I believe Molly Baz was a sous chef on Moltissimo.

Strawberry Spaghetti.

Lovely Molly Baz again, she's done Roman and Napolitan classic dishes. Now Sicilian.

Cultural transference, now I know where Italian Rice Cake came from...there is a story.

In the Late 15th Century, it seemed inevitable that the Ottoman Empire would conquer Venice. The Venetians were not ready to accept their fate, so they sent diplomats to the Saffavid (Persian) Empire. They made the point that it was in the Persians best interest to open a second front against the Ottomans. It worked and the Persians took back Mesopotamia. With the Ottomans facing a bigger threat from another Muslim country for the first time, they withdrew their navy from the Adriatic.

Venice was spared the Ottoman yoke.

Every time I brought up Molly clips I kept reading comment about Brad, Brad, Brad. Who is this Brad?

So I looked him up. He is the internet's most popular chef and most inexperienced outdoors man, Ity - NJ Chef Brad Leone. All his videos have over one million hits, he appears to have his own cadre of CumberBitches.

A simple and hearty winter stew but also a traditional Irish stew for St. Patrick's Day. He's using lamb shoulder but you can also use mutton. Maybe add some parsnips or turnips and maybe add a little Guinness. :) :couch2:

Nice Missy, very good winter comfort food.

Two Maritimo pricks make fish tacos. Matty is from PEI and Brad is of Sardi heritage.

Quite often I'll use peanut oil for frying. It's got the highest smoking point and it's actually a neutral flavor. Sometimes I find canola oil adds a strange taste to food. I like sunflower oil too for frying.

^^ Mmm... I love seared scallops. :)
My favorite scallops recipe. It works best with the smaller bay scallops. Saute the scallops in butter. When they are half done add a shot of cognac. Don't flame them, just let them absorb the flavors of the cognac and butter that have blended together. Delicious and easy, only three ingredients.
