You can still go to St Lawrence Market and get decent cuts in the 10 buck range. Spend more and cut a bacon wrapped peppercorn filet.

Right now for a two person household our total grocery bill is, including a few Costco runs, St Lawr. Runs, farmers market, once a year Niagara on the lake for some artisanal stuff, Mennonite country run, etc, for all consumables maybe 800-1000 a month. But we eat well and have a stocked pantry. Includes cleaning supplies etc.

It's as much about looking for sales and stocking up. Bought bacon at 3.99 a pack, several in the freezer. Same with chicken, pork chops, and more. At the same time we buy local and a slight premium but get good quality.

What is wrong with all of you? You are comparing things from back in the decade to now, ofcourse prices will be up, and I’m sure you don’t make the same money you used to back in the days. It’s apparently called growth. You can’t be expecting to spend nothing for everything and even if you do manage to get something there will always be a clan criticizing the quality, quantity or even bring up the racist card who prepared your food. And if someone wants a meal for less than $10 even at McDonald’s, I mean you are next to homeless buddy!

Apparently you can't do basic math and are blind to how inflation actually affects people.
Income has not kept up with inflation. This is why year after year people are struggling more and more

I'll go really basic here...5 years ago a tin of sardines where I shop was $1.99 now it's $2.75.

I am perfectly fine and know how inflation works, it’s just you don’t want to level up and May be work smarter or invest properly and that’s why it’s affecting you all because you love your basic job. I am an Asian guy, we take care of ourselves plus our children even after they turn 18, save up and think for grandchildren’s future and yet live a very comfortable lifestyle. It’s just about how you want your brain to work
