Big game about to start. Man City against Liverpool. That's pure joy. Salah is back. Both team are great. My best player KDB is playing awesome. Yet i want Liverpool to win.
Great game, Liverpool managed to get the penalty but I think they were a little better than City.

EPL D day on Sunday at the Etihad, MC-Arsenal might decide the league winner.
Both teams have played Liverpool already, and both need the 3 points.

Fuken Foden did it again. Hat trick. City won 4-1. One of Foden's goal went through the wall in a free kick. The other goals were good the last one was great.

Man City is once again at the top of the table. Must win games for both Arsenal and Liverpool tomorrow.
Liverpool are at home to C. Palace while the Gunners face Aston Villa who are battling for the 4th spot with Spurs. Interesting games.
Tottenham were way below par when they got really spanked 4-0 by Newcastle. One of their worst defeats this season.
If you want to want to watch both games with the best picture quality with no freezing, I always recommend the USA Channel on IPTV.
It is like watching a regular TV Channel rather than Streaming like FUBOTV, or DAZN..

Both Liverpool and Arsenal got spanked at home and all of a sudden it's a familiar sight with MC on top with 6 games to go,
who wants to bet against Pep?

It won't be long before my beloved Burnley are confirmed relegated from PL to Championship. In all my years of following Burnley I have never witnessed such a terrible season, utter rubbish week in week out. This past Saturday's laughable own goal by our Kosovo goalie Arijanet Muric sums up our season to a tee.

Surprising results at the weekend. This weekend saw teams that were aspiring for either the EPL Title or spots for next season's European Competitions on the losing side.
Add a team like West Ham that needed to win in order to take the 6th spot and yet they lost at home to Fulham. Man United and Brighton could scrape just a point each.
But now Chelsea look like serious contenders with a big 6-0 win over Everton earlier today. We have to see whether Liverpool and West Ham can overcome their first leg losses to help the English Premier sides gain an extra spot in the EUFA Champions League tournament.

One of the controversial disallowed goals according to The Coventry City heartbroken fans who think that the VAR decision was a "fix" for the borderline offside decision. They eventually were beaten by Man Utd in the semi-finals of The English FA Cup.
Maybe they have a point, but still difficult to to dispute their's or the Official VAR claim. More like six of one and half a dozen of the other. Apparently next season the Premier Division are going to switch to a SAOT VAR System used in the World Cup:

I can only speak to the EPL but VAR is a joke, there's no question in my mind VAR is bias towards the 'big teams'. It was brought in to help ref's with so called 'clear and obvious errors'. Coventry's winner was chalked off because the guy was deemed offside by a toe nail???? That's 'clear and obvious', I think not. VAR has taken the spontaneity out of the game for the attending fans. Now it takes 2, 3, 4 minutes to draw the lines, and the EXACT time the ball was kicked isn't taken in to consideration. My beloved Burnley will probably be relegated to Championship next season where VAR isn't used....excellent. (y) Problem with that is we may possibly be promoted back next season, rinse and repeat.(n)

At times The VAR has taken over 5 minutes. They desperately tried all the angles until they found a grey area to disallow the goal. Even in the Europa Cup where there was a handball with an outstretched hand, it was overruled by VAR as to the player not being responsible for the ball hitting his hand. Ridiculous!!

VAR has fucked football. This is a hill I will die on.

VAR is just a technology. The real joke is the offside rules imo,
they kill the game and punish speedy players and make it near impossible for a human ref to get it right
when the refs have to keep an eye on the time the ball was kicked and who's ahead of whom by an inch at the same time.

Chelsea are not contenders, not after losing 5-0 :D Liverpool are shooting themselves in the foot in the meantime.

I agree totally with you. Why not forgetting about offside? it would open up the game so much. Defence would adapt and stop playing to voluntary move forward to make attacks players offside.

Just like on a free throw let’s move the game with no offside!

It's the linesman's job to flag offsides and work in tandem with the ref. Personally I'd rather see VAR ditched and go back to accept the fact some ref's calls may be incorrect. Another thing that has appeared recently is the amount of added time allotted when a 'big team' is behind by a goal, when the said team is ahead, little added time is allowed. That goes back to the days when Man Utd were dominating the PL, commonly known as 'Fergie time' in reference to Sir Alec Ferguson, then manager of Utd.

As for the PL leader race, looks like my Liverpool (my second team) are 'bottling' it. (n)

Exactly! I've seen enough VAR decisions made that were still up to the ref and they got it WRONG (too many handball calls that were so obviously not!) So it's 50/50 using or NOT using VAR. Also... if it's so great and is there for fairness, then why isn't it used to determine goal vs corner kick when that's being contested?! How many goals are scored on a corner?

Wolves got screwed on Wednesday when a goal was disallowed because of a foul committed minutes before. Where does it end? How far back do you go in the game? A penalty was given in a game months ago (can't remember which one) 5 minutes AFTER the infraction in the box. The game had gone on. The commentators were dumbfounded.

Case in point: Burnley vs Bournemouth PL game about 4 or 5 seasons back. Bournemouth scored, before Burnley were allowed to kick off to restart play VAR checked a possible infringement in Bournemouth’s penalty area a minute or so earlier. Bournemouth’s goal was chalked off, Burnley awarded a penalty and scored. Good for my beloved Burnley but ridiculous nonetheless!!

Agreed it's the linesmen's job, my beef is with the offside rules rather than VAR.
Nothing has killed the game more than offside traps and cynical fouls that result
in toothless yellow cards (topic for another thread).
