White privilege is not about someone being handed more success because of their skin colour. It has to do with how much effort someone has to put in, to achieve the same level of success. It does not take away from the effort a white person puts into their own success. But it is absolutely true that they do not have to put in as much effort as a person of colour.
An Indian worker, has to put in substantially more effort, and prove more at the workplace, and make less mistakes at work, to secure the same recognition, acknowledgement, success, promotions etc., than a white guy would have to. Similarly, a person of colour, making an error at work, will likely suffer more scrutiny, than a white person would, as a white person would be given a wider berth to make mistakes.
There are of course different types of privileges. A white man, would have more privilege than a white woman - who has to work harder, to prove she is valuable, intelligent and qualified, than a white guy. That would be gender privilege.
You can extend that to many other things as well. In general if you are white or male or straight or thin or conventionally handsome/beautiful or rich or able bodied etc., you have more privilege based on each of those characteristics, in various scenarios as appropriate.
So the word "privilege" is not to be taken literally, as if one is treated explicitly better than the other, as a matter of law or rule. These things are unspoken and can only be experienced and you can only experience it if you fit certain criteria of skin colour, or gender or what have you. So as a white person, just learn to accept a person of colour's lived experiences. Its not a conspiracy that all persons of colour are involved in some coordinated effort to bring down white people lol.
