Proof!

This deserves its own thread.... seriously.

"We were all going down with a group of six, so we were both ordering a ride each," Ferreira told Narcity over the phone. Ferreira said Parks was quoted $57.80, whereas he was quoted $32.58. The two double-checked their apps to see if a glitch or a technical problem had caused the issue. They tried booking another Uber, but were met with the same results again.

You and I know this but there are some dumb people out there. I know a guy, not a friend just an acquaintance, who believe that Sikh was Islamic faith.
Holy shit! That is ignorance. We all know that Sikhism is an offshoot of Hinduism. It was the Sikhs who stopped the Muslims from conquering all of India.

That's probably true. But, white privilege helps even the poorest white people. I mean, they get benefits more than a POC when it would come to things like getting a job or being hassled by store staff.
Having grown up as a poor white guy, the ability put on a decent suit for a job interview made my family income irrelevant.

Of course individuals from any group can be successful but lack of privilege reduces the probability.

It’s been proven as flawed many times and shouldn’t be a theory pushed on to society. It originally started with Peggy McIntosh who wrote about her experience. While true to her, it was unfairly tagged as white privlige. It’s just a silly generalization that can be pulled about easily. It’s just silly Americanisms.

Says someone who thinks they're entitled simply because one of their ancestors got lucky.
You really have difficulty seeing big picture concepts. The simplest statement one can make about a sense of entitlement in this context, based of empirical observation, is that we both think that we are entitled to the inheritance that my ancestors left me. You believe that you are entitled to appropriate it under colour of law and redistribute it as you see fit. I believe that those who produced the wealth are entitled to distribute it as they see fit (I.e. to their descendants).
The funny thing is that we are both driven by the same biological imperative to produce/capture resources. The fact that you see the ability to succeed at this as strictly a matter of luck is telling. While luck does play a part, organization and drive play a bigger part. Take the modern Saudis for example. Luck put them on top of a huge oil reserve. Intelligence and business acumen let them parley that luck into tremendous wealth. I don’t hear anyone talking about Arab privilege.
Every great society was started by a group of people that had a combination of engineering know how, logistical skill, drive and aggression (I.e. they were smart and they had their shit together). This can be seen in every society from the ancient Ethiopians, to the ancient Egyptians to the Chinese to the Aztecs. What we see in the modern world is the result of the Europeans having their shit together about 400 years ago. Had the Africans and North American Aboriginals had their shit just as together in that time frame, their descendants would be in a much better place right now. If we don’t get our shit together, our descendants will be in a much worse place.

Not at all. You seem to think that you are entitled because some of your ancestors have the same skin colour as those who came to lead the Western world. Sharing skin colour or genetic place of origin with someone successful is not a measure of your worth or abilities.

Fact is being the descendent of the village idiot but being white and born in Canada gives you a significant statistical advantage over the child of a Kenyan doctors who immigrates here.

You are very much a mid vision sort of guy. You miss big picture concepts and you have no understanding of the discreet mechanisms which bring about the big picture. When I speak of ancestors, I mean it very specifically and precisely. My parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on. They built what they built in order to pass it to their children, who built upon it to pass to their children all the way down the line to me. I will build upon what I was given to pass to my children. That process is how your so called ‘Privilege’ came about. It is very much more a function of generations of work and intelligence than it is of luck. Certain cultural values (work ethic, nuclear family, respect for scientific inquiry and respect for education) foster the process I described. Cultures with those values will thrive and dominate. Cultures without them will not. That is why the world is currently so dominated by European culture.
What is really interesting is where those values are most present today; India and China. The way things are going, your descendants will be complaining about Brown or Yellow privilege in 300 years or so.

E.I.'s and Chinese students definitely excel in academic achievements which they later translate into business success (and no it won't take 300 years).

In these days, the most important reason for success is education, not so much white privilege although I believe it still exits but to a lesser degree. All you have to do is check the student body of universities in the GTA and you will see that a good percentage of them are non white because their parents make sure they get a good education and are able to get good jobs regardless of their race.

The big picture is that I try to judge people by their abilities, not what their ancestors may or may not have done. And you miss the big picture of the topic that racial privilege has to do with the advantages of a certain skin tone and applies equally to someone who is 12th generation PhD or 12th generation unemployed.

p.s. you should really get over this bullshit argument that Europeans spread power because of work ethic. Even reading something like Guns, Germs, and Steel should clearly identify to you that there was a hell of a lot more to it. If it were "work ethic, nuclear family, respect for scientific inquiry and respect for education", the stereotypes about Chinese and South Asian people that darts likes to believe would have made them the dominant force of the past several hundred years.
