Covid weight.....

A

Akila Besos

I have gained weight and have lost weight dueing this pandemic. Some days I eat very healthy and do yoga and jog..other days generally when I have class I turn into the lazy potato and ubereat my food because I cannot bother getting off my ass. I find as long as I feel good about myself and accept my body no matter what state it is then I shall be happy and have the happiness shine onto others.

Sides most of us have gained a few pounds here and there but we are all still attractive regardless of what the scale tells us ^-^

That is my thing, I was starting to just feel blah and lazy and low energy around Christmas and that is because of the extra weight.

The scale doesn’t bother me but that loss of energy does.

agree totally
It doesn’t help that it is winter. I hate the cold.

In the summer I am active. Walking, kayaking, swimming, gardening. But winter I don’t want to go out at all.

I’m down a couple of lbs so far so what I am doing is working. Just a lot slower then if it was summer right now.

Although Covid sucks, it has been amazing for me and my health.

At the very beginning of Covid, I was baking and cooking for my boyfriend even more than I usually do( homemade pretzels, foccaccia bread, cakes, etc.) and was just taking in way too many carbs. On May 4th I decided it was time to put a stop to that and I went on a strict diet and started excersizing daily.

Fast forward to today...I am down 68 lbs now and I aim to burn between 1500-2000 calories everyday via a daily 1+ hour walk each day and virtual zumba/sculpt/cardio classes. I also drink 1 gallon (almost 4 L) everyday. Each morning I take multi vitamin, Garcina cambogia and Vitamin B12.

I feel amazing and I am very happy with my results. The only negative is that my boobs that were a D+ (bras were tight on me) are probably a C now :( but at least I still have my booty. No matter how much weight I lose, I will never lose this ass of mine....thank god !!
great on you

I'm up 12 pounds so far. I was skinny-ripped pre-pandemic. Now I'm skinny soft but getting fatter each month. I'm struggling to find the motivation to workout right now.

So what has happened to you?. Either people got buff with all this time off or people got fat because of becoming coach potatoes with nothing else to do.

I sadly became the latter. I am actually disappointed in myself. I lost all that weight and kept is off for a long time and then gained back some of it because of COVID. I lost out in going to the gym, being just overall move active. I mainly gained it in the fall. I was active in the summer.

So I am doing workouts at home now, and it is ok. I don’t like it as much as the gym, but I’m doing it. Kinda like you don’t like jerking off as much as having sex, but you do it and deal.

I am down a few pounds so I am seeing results. I did a get into a bit of a skipthedishes addiction, but that is done. I’m back to cooking and it is good. I enjoy it for the most part. I just allowed COVID lockdowns to be lazy with my health.

How is everyone else doing?
Why am I not surprised? lol. I was expecting you to say you had turned into Celine Dione. Just kidding.
The rec center closed down but I found a fit4less gym which is the shit. Hate the gym. Never got any results because I quit, because I never get any results. But now I am going before work. Cause there is no way I am going after work. Hate it slightly less. Trying to stick with it. I need to gain muscle. Have none. On my legs. So I am going to stick with it for a year. That is the plan. Just keep going until I see some evidence of results. My right leg is getting bigger than my left leg. Don't know if that is good.

I've gained weight, the gym is closed and I eat trash food out of bordem. My Doc says lots of people gained weight, became more depressed, more overdoses. Carbs are the worst, if you can eat lots of protein instead of the carbs its much better.

In the end, it is calories in calories out. Eat carbs but be in a calorie deficit you will lose weight, take in more than you burn off you will gain weight.

If it was solely calories in calories out, there would be no difference between fulfilling your TDEE with high fructose corn syrup and chicken breast.

I'm not referring to healthy vs giving yourself a coronary but take in say 1800 calories only per day for one week of corn syrup and drink only water. I'll bet you $1000 you will lose weight.

The trick really comes down to eating in volume. Low-calorie foods with high volume to give you the full feeling without the caloric intake.

Just in case you don't believe me, listen to Coach Greg. His voice is annoying as fuck but the man knows what he's talking about. LOL

It was an extreme case to illustrate not all calories are created equal and thus it is not just calories in calories out.

You would need to determine a baseline; staring BF%, diet and level of activity first and keep those variable the same to make and test such a claim.
Generally weight loss is thought of as losing body fat, or at least lowering the body fat percentage.
It may be true, you may lose total mass but you will most certainly increase your body fat percentage, because nothing is fueling the lean muscle to repair itself.

Obviously one would never eat 1800 calories of Corn Syrup but the science does not change. If you exceed your daily maintenance calories on a daily basis by eating chicken breast you will gain weight. The trick is finding out what your daily maintenance calories are and then adjust as they change as you start to lose weight.

lmfao, you'd be surprised; just look south of the border.
Even here, fountain drinks have done plenty of damage.
