FYI: Joey Votto hasn't yet played a game in the minor leagues this year, so he's at least a few weeks away from being an impact player in the pennant race. If he doesn't make it back to The Show, he'll make an interesting trivia question: Who hit a home run in his only at bat in a Toronto Blue Jays uniform?

We've been tough on Atkins so let's give some credit for picking up Izzy in the off season. So far he's looking like a decent addition.

It's tough enough watching the Jays lose so much, but how many fuckin' times do we have to see that nail fungus commercial.

No disrespect to IKF, but with Atkins' performance in the off-season it's like saying that even though some guy is batting .105, let's give him credit for laying down a couple of sacrifice bunts or hustling down the line. Getting IKF was getting 5-10% of what they needed to get.

IKF was a favourite of mine in NY...Even played in center last year for a bit. His best position is 3rd. He won a gold glove there one year with Texas I believe.

I’m surprised Brendan Belt wasn’t picked up.

Brandon Belt had lukewarm interest in playing another season. His sons turn six and ten in 2024. It's very possible that being around his family is more important to him than one more one year contract. He could leave a World Series ring to each of them, when he gives up the ghost.

With an OPS of over 800 and a batting average of 300 Vlad will be an all star
as MLB wants him in the home run derby, even though he is not a home run guy with 7 homers .
Judge has 21

This team is full of the- What if…. wouldn’t it be amazing if the Astros took Springer and Biggio for sentimental purposes? I would trade both of them for whatever they can get. Even some journeyman A ball player. We need to see Addison Barger and Spencer Horwitz once again ASAP. I wish the Blue Jays didn’t have so much loyalty to under performing ageing players.

With a 30-32 record, the team would have to go 59-41 the rest of the way to equal last year’s record,
which was just barely good enough to sneak into the playoffs as a wild-card team.

Then, if we do sneak in, lose because we face no more weak teams, that we beat to sneak in,
and play only the best pitchers and best hitting teams

We need to get real and become sellers at the deadline for tomorrow's prospects to
be a genuine contender in a few years

He had bigger interest then "lukewarm". He wanted to play another year but never got a call.

Forgot, I'm on onomatpoeia's "ignore list"...lol.

Yeah I’ve heard this as well. He was wondering why he has no interest.

Jays are inching closer to setting a new all-time baseball record.

They've gone 28 consecutive games without scoring in the 1st inning. The Boston "B's" went 31 in a row for the record in 1938. They later became the Braves. (I think that's what they said.)

"To The Core", indeed.

Think of the new advertising campaign. "Come see the record breaking Jays play ball".

I'm waiting for Atkins to say that 1st innings are overrated.

Is Ross Atkins the character in the book Where Is Waldo? He definitely plays those hiding games with the media. I still think, he’s just a Shapiro puppet. All the shots are called by Mark Shapiro imho.
