Nate Pearson to get start today.
they are bringing him up ahead of schedule

Jays are in sore need of another starter

Kirk is out so Pearson can have his spot

I wonder if they short leash him or let him throw 90 pitches ? he threw 78 in his only aaa start

if he is not ready to throw full out then they should not bring him up

consider Springer
The assumption is that his injury, unlike Springer's, is fully healed.

He has just not been fully stretched out. It's like if a pitcher didn't quite finish training camp but is not injured.

If he pitches well, those 80 pitches could take him through 6 innings, which would be a big help for the bullpen.

He hit 98mph which is still pretty good.

But velocity means nothing when you have absolutely 0 fucking control. He could have thrown it 110 with the same result.

They say Pearson never had any control problems with the heater in the minors.
It's pretty nerve-wracking to debut in The Show. Betcha the kid pitches way better in his 2nd start!

He didn't have any spring training to speak of. I would have kept him on the farm for a minimum of 3 starts before promoting him. I get that we are short on starters right now, thanks to management neglecting arms, but he's our prized arm and we need to set him up for success not failure.

Why did Acuna punk Vlady after he hit his home run?

Vlady was cold against the Asstros, best to let a sleeping Kong lie. He's not so funny now is he.

The game today starts at 12:20.

We have our "ace" Ross Stripling going. I might prefer Rod Serling.
