You've figured that out after his 1st start?
No, but if he has a few more starts like that he'll be relegated to the pen real quick

Wait ! I got one for you. ... Hamilton sits on the shore of Hamilton Harbour.
Well if they were called the Hamilton Harbour Ti-Cats you'd have a good argument because that is what they've done in Tampa

But they are the Hamilton Ti-Cats, the name of the city. Why are they not the Tampa Rays since Tampa is the name of the city?

Actually, I have a theory. Their first pro team was the NFL Buccaneers and they were called the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Evidently throwing in the "Bay" makes it sound better partly because of the alliteration. It flows, I get it.

But then when hockey and baseball came along they were just copycats and did the same thing. That part's not theory, that's what happened. They just followed the lead of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Almost every major city around the world not only sits on but was specifically established on a particular body of water for transportation of goods and people and/or the need for water. I won't speak of the world (though I've never heard of any elsewhere either), but AFAIK, in North America Tampa Bay is the only body of water that has teams named after it as opposed to the city that sits on that body of water.

Good thing we got a dome stadium or this game would be rain-delayed :)

Not while walking in two runs. That could be the game unless the Jays can scratch out a few runs.
Final box score: Dickey made a quality start and got beaten by a guy with very good stuff. Ordinarily a guy w Dickey's line should win that game. Martin, Donaldson, Encarnacion. The heart of the order hasn't got their timing yet.

No problem. Makes more sense than a body of water whose only inhabitants are not human.

Or are you asking me about the fortunes of the team?

I completely agree. One wild inning cost the Jays the game. Not an amazing start for RA.

We can just put the past behind us tomorrow though, bcuz we will kick their derrieres tomorrow and the next day. The starting pitcher tomorrow is Norris, so here's hoping we can begin to kick ass.

xoxo,

Olivia Grace

I will be working the Monster-Bulldogs game in Hamilton on Sat. It will be the last game ever for the team in Hamilton before they move to St. John's. We will be stuck with a lousy OHL team starting next year.

My paisan Giacomo Odorizzi is very under-rated. if the Jays do get it together and the Rays fall out of the race, he's just what we need.

...as long as he doesn't do any Primo pasta commercials.

Not sure if it's his pasta-based diet or if pitching is ahead of hitting at this time of year, but GO has had close to no-hit stuff through 2 games and has yet to give up an earnie. Pretty good by anyone's books!
