Yes, and to teams we haven't done well against recently in their ballparks.

Much, much better by the BP today.
Pitching is very unsettled so far. Hopefully, it will settle down.

Looks like this might be a rough year for the Yankees. So far, they've dropped straight into the basement.

Let's see Tampa Bay.
Tampa. The only franchises in all of pro sports to be named after a body of water.:frusty:

I'm not convinced with Castro yet. The first out was a bullet shot that luckily was hit right at 3rd baseman, plus his control isnt exactly pinpoint.

He does have an excellent fastball though

Nope. Green Bay is the name of the town.

Tampa is the city and sits on Tampa Bay.

It'd be like the San Francisco Bay Giants.

Green Bay is the name of both the town and the body of water.

Who here figures that Michael Saunders and Maicer Izturis aren't getting their jobs back when they come off the DL?

Maicer could be in tough.

So could Tolleson. He's been the 4th outfielder. Jose is everyday but the other 3, Pillar, Pompey and Saunders will be in some sort of platoon.

Green Bay Packers refers to the town.

I know.

And San Francisco is on San Francisco Bay but they aren't the SF Bay Giants. The team is named for the city not the body of water it sits on.

The city is Tampa, not Tampa Bay.

EX-jays news:

Brett Lawrie struck out 4 times on 12 pitches last night LOL

Dustin McGowan signed with the Phillies for $1.5m, and is in their bullpen

Drabek got lit up in relief his first appearance of the season for the whitesox. Melky should have a good year for them hitting in front of Abreu
.

JP Arencibia didn't make the orioles out of spring training, and wasn't placed on the 40-man roster. Travis Snider is the O's starting right fielder and is 4-5 with 3 walks through 2 games

Noah syndergaard didn't crack the mets rotation out of spring training. Took a ball off his ankle in spring training and they demoted him to delay his arbitration clock. He'll be up later this year. d'Arnaud is their starting catcher and this is his make or break season. He neds to stay healthy. Mets have a top catching prospect already at AAA.

JA HAPP had a horrible camp for the Mariners 1.81 WHIP in 5 starts , but is in their rotation to start the year.

Asher Wojciechowski had a great spring for the Astros, and is there number 4 starter to begin the season. He's one of the guys we gave up to get Happ. Big workhorse type of starter I think we'll regret in that deal.

5-tool Jake Marisnick (Reyes/Buerhle trade) had a good spring for the Astros , he's platoon outfielder for them to start the year, will split playing time with Colby Rasmus who oddly enough had more walks than hits this spring.

And anyone know where Juan Francisco went LOL? Mexican beer league?
Tied for 5th across the majors in batting average are Adam Lind and Anthony Gose, each batting .450 after 20 AB's.

Gose has a 1.250 OPS and Lind is at 1.310

1 week in the books, 6 games played and 6 games reduced is the magic number, now at 157.

According to wiki:

Tampa Bay Rays

On November 19, 2014, Francisco was claimed off waivers by the Boston Red Sox, He was designated for assignment on November 25. but was non-tendered and became a free agent.

On January 10, 2015, Francisco signed a minor league deal with the Tampa Bay Rays. After failing to make the 25-man roster out of spring training, Tampa Bay attempted to send Francisco to Triple-A Durham Bulls, however he exercised an opt-out clause in his contract on April 5 and became a free agent
So I guess Juan Fransisco didnt wanna ride non-airconditioned buses in triple A and decided to become a free agent.

Some last place club who desperately need a bat will probably sign him in middle of summer

I was never a fan of Pillar last year but he has won me over this year so far his defense is amazing so far his hitting is good this year. If he keeps it up what is going to happen with Saunders.

Head's up on T-Rays:

So far Odorizzi and Archer both have ERA's of 0.00! The rest of the rotation has been blown out of the park with big lopsided losses.

And yet the stadium (Tropicana Field) is in St. Petersburg.

Please note the first word of my post is if. I hope the Jays believe these guys are more than mop up pitchers or your post Saying the Jays will finish last will be accurate. At this point it looks like the two rookies and perhaps Cecil can close, but they will need help from the rest of the bullpen or they will burn out. None of them were overly impressive yesterday and you have to hope that will change. Trading for a closer really isn't an option as their isn't anyone worthwhile available and if their was the price would be a young arm.
To date the bullpen looks like the Jays Achilles heel. The rookies have been awesome and Cecil has had a good and a bad outing. The rest of the bullpen is still a question mark
Maybe Sanchez's future lies in the pen rather than as a starter??
