I am watching a game btw the Angels and the Astros now. With 2 outs and a run behind the Astros decided to steal second base. Didn't go their way after the replay. But, this is what I mean about Gibby's managerial style that he just sits there and waits for the big innings with the HRs. Gibby should be a bit more unpredictable with his moves during games. Otherwise, it seems like Gibby having a friendly chess match with Joe Girardi for the last two nights! We all know that HRs will not come easy in the playoffs. I pray that Gibby knows what the hell he is doing comes playoff times. Hey, we can always cheer on the Leafs after October, lol!

Astros have to steal and manufacture to win. They have a poor batting order.

Gibby has done unpredictable stuff too.

2.2 innings in and Stroman looks insane! We're hitting Nova hard, but so far they're finding gloves.

You mean like the 2 out steal by Pillar in the 4th inning with no score of today's game ?

Don't ya just hate when Gibby goes and does something that makes you look dumb?

Stroman pitching great but the offence has stranded 6 in 4 innings. This is one of those games the Yanks find a way to win late.

Wow that was seriously clutch. This guy is a gamer. Worth the hefty price tag.

But I have to ask what the hell is Gibbons doing batting Smoak 5th in the order. This guy is useless at hitting breaking pitches. He looks like Pedro Serrano out there for crissakes.

What have I been saying all year: Russell Martin MVP.

Currently only Yadier Molina is in his league. There were a number of catchers who hit as well as Martin but only Johnny Bench, Thurman Munson and Rick Dempsey were as good as him defensively.

Nice to see Martin with the big hit. But why is Smoak been at first when he's hitting .220 when you have C.C hitting .300?

K Douglas is right, Smoak will have to learn how to hit the slow curveball if he wants stay in the big leagues

You're right. He does look like Pedro Serrano, as in "Fuck you, Joe Boo." Then he hit he big one.

Smoak has gotten clutch hits against the Yanks all year. But the last 2 games, they seemed to have figured him out and he cannot handle off speed. I agree. Time for il Bello to take over.

Here
What a pleasure to watch Stro pitch!

Seems totally in control, nasty stuff and always around the plate unless it is a purpose pitch.

And he just turned 24!

Hopefully Donaldson is out of his mini slump and can be his old self for the rest of the season

Guess Gibby wants his A defensive team out there and that's why he's at first ahead of Colabello.

I thought Nova pitched really well for the Yankees and Stroman just one upped him.
If he can keep it going it's like the Jays have 2 ace pitchers going into the playoffs and he's got a fresh arm since his season is so new.

Here's the Yankee fan view of the Stromeister tonight:

"Stroman was no straw man. He was quite nasty and did a lot to miss the Yankee bats – throwing different kinds of fastballs (cutting, sinking, straight, etc.), locating them very well, changing speeds, uncorking that nasty hard slider down and in against lefties, etc. – he had a lot going on. With his return, the Jays postseason rotation is suddenly looking formidable."

TORONTO — The Toronto Blue Jays are shuffling their starting rotation this weekend in a move that provides Mark Buehrle with an additional day off and sets David Price up to start a wild card game on regular rest, if necessary.

The Blue Jays are flipping Price and Buehrle in the rotation with Price starting Saturday and Buehrle starting Sunday. R.A. Dickey will start Friday when the Blue Jays open their final regular season series of 2015 against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Buehrle had preceded Price in the rotation, but will now start Sunday on six days’ rest. The move provides an extra day off for the 36-year-old, who had a cortisone shot earlier this month to address a sore left shoulder.

Gibby also discusses injuries and fatigue as a factor in the Jays' September.
