Lowe in to hopefully finish this one off. Hopefully Dickey keeps pitching the way he has lately we need him to go as far as possible tomorrow.
And, to clinch a playoff spot, Toronto is at 14 now, 13 if the White Sox hold their 8-2 lead vs Minnesota.
Lowe is just nasty , good job closing the game .
Yanks pitching can't contain the Jays , 30 runs in 3 games . Yanks starters getting pulled early. Bullpen coughing up add-on runs .
Tulo hurt is a huge loss , but I think with Goins and Pennington up the middle we don't lose that much defensively. Offensively Jays already had the top offense in baseball before Tulo got here . I think we'll be ok .
Looked like EE tweaked his thumb just before the rain delay. Didn't look serious , he probably sits tomorrow for extra rest before the off day .
Wouldn't be a bad idea to rest some other jays regulars tomorrow . That was a long 3 games . I think Chad Jenkins is the only pitcher that wasn't used.

Maybe not, but it sure felt like the end of something in The Bronx, as the Yankees dropped both ends of the twinbill to Toronto and fell a season-high 4½ games out of first place. The day ended with the Yankees having lost five in a row, playing in front of a nearly empty stadium that had earlier been filled largely with Blue Jays fans.
“If you get swept, it becomes harder to win your division, but it does not mean it’s impossible,” Girardi said before the bloodbath began. “There’s still a lot that can happen in 21 games after today; a ton that can happen. I don’t think you get too high or too low. You have to stay even-keeled.” Instead of even-keeled, though, the Yankees appeared nearly catatonic from the 11th inning of the first game through much of the second game.

That's a lot of damage for what appears to be a mild bump. (I've crashed my bike and never suffered any damage other than a slightly bruised knee.)

With 20 games to go anything can happen. The joker in the deck ("something that could change a situation in a way that you do not expect") would be injuries. A guy breaks his ankle walking down dugout steps. A guy hurts himself running into a sprinkler. A guy tears his left ACL fielding a bunt. A guy slips in the dressing room and suffers a concussion (maybe that only happens to female tennis players?). Keep your fingers cross.
What do you expect from call ups? They did just enough and saved some innings from the core guys.
They served their purpose.
This is over. this thread has to end now. They are not only going to win the AL east but they are going to win the AL outright. A new thread should be started about the playoffs.
Can anybody stop them? Really?
This guy is amazing!! He's exactly like Rickey Henderson, only much better.
And AA should be given the key to the city, what this man has done to our team is on another level altogether!!!
