The umpires will do everything to make sure an official game gets in this late in the season.
They can play through this light drizzle.
I'll bet they get 9 innings in.
Hope Stroman can go 6 innings. Looks pretty good so far.

the rain really coming down,
This is bush league. How can a team call itself major league when they don't have a roof to call their own? Is it because of natural grass? Hope nobody, especially Stroman, slips and fall and break their ankle or twist their knee.

Stroman looks like a really big addition to the rotation so far.
If Hutch was pitching this game it would be 6 - 6 right now.

Hopefully he can make it through the 5th without any more damage...

I disagree. Stroman looking very ordinary and has allowed the Yanks back into the game 6-3. Hopefully the offence will wake up again and score a few more runs.

The condition of the field (mud) cost turning a double play in that inning, plus Donaldson slipping / not throwing someone out.

Jays had two chances to be out of the inning before the 3 run HR, so I'd have to blame the weather... just shitty luck. Yanks felt it too when the Jays put up 6 runs.
You could be right, I'm not watching the game just following the score on my phone so I can't see what the conditions are but I see they are now in a rain delay.

Stroman had a no hitter through 4 innings and in the fifth gave up 2 infield ground ball hits which is a bit unlucky especially since both were right at people.
If Pennington hadn't slipped and fallen in the wet grass on a play it would have been a clean enough inning with no runs allowed. That was an automatic out if the grass was dry.

I thought Stroman had some nice sharp breaking stuff going there for called strikes. Overall I thought he threw quite well.

A functional, effective Stroman is a gift from heaven and the answer to at least 1 of the Buehrle and Hutch problems. 5 innings of 3-run ball is a huge achievement to build on for this team.

Jays need to give a couple more cortisone shots to Devon Travis. His bat is missed if Tulo is out for a while.

Big inning by the Jays.
Teams can come back from deep holes; but, if the team ahead chips away with more runs it makes it a comeback exponentially tougher.
Jays up 4.5 games in East if they can hold on for the win.

Also don't know what's up with EE. Did not return after the rain delay.
Seemed to tweak his finger on the 3rd strike, the finger that's been bothering him for a while.

Francis letting the Yanks back in this one now 10-7. Why did the Jays sign this guy? He lost it years ago.

Delabar in to put out the fire doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Thank god he closed out the 8th.
Wonder if Osuna is available in the ninth.
