I read it and they don't say exactly when but the eligibility rules have recently changed from the 25 to the 40 man roster.
Where is the big problem with Sanchez? They asked him to pitch more than one inning last game, when he's been very consistent just pitching the 8th. I think this is a case of trying to improve/perfect something that is already doing quite well, thank you.

He was on the farm. They brought him in after August. He wasn't good enough to be up here so they "called him up", regardless of how you'd like to rationalize it.
Once again, if you understand the concept of call ups, you would know he is not eligible to pitch in the playoffs no matter his form.

MLB.com reports Tulo out for 2 - 3 weeks. So best case is shorter than that mentioned in gcostanza's post.
Depending on residual pain and impairment. I guess half a Tulo is better than none though.

When the Jays visited Philly for a 2 game series in Aug. they split the series. Can't take any team for granted. Starting Buehrle and Hutch (on the road), is just a little scary to me. I know they are trying to set up there post season pitching rotation, but you gotta get there first.
Buehrle has normally been fine and has just had a couple of rough starts. Until the last blowout at Fenway, he was a top 20 pitcher in the AL and would be a #1 on several teams (Yanks, O's and Bosox included). Hutch, of course..........
At that level I would say infielder continues back and does not call ball until able to comfortably make catch, which I realize is a grey area. Outfielder comes in and calls ball when able to make catch. If outfrielder calls ball infielder backs off, but outfielder has more latitude to call ball even if not quite sure of catch. If Tulo has called the ball, he should have a pretty easy play on it, which he did. Pillar got a little enthusiastic, But it is tough to say who called when and more emportantly who heard who. Really nobody to blame, but unfortunate and maybe preventable.
