I don't have much confidence in him right now. It's one thing to work out a few kinks but he's been kinky for a full year now.

Happ's start today is looking important in terms of making a decision. The Jays can't afford to give away games in which expectations are high for the year. Barring a bad outing today (which he had last time) I'd rather see J.A.

March 31 is the first MLB regular season game. I wonder why MLB abandon the traditional start in Cincy ?
To get back at the fans because they still like Pete Rose.

Ricky Romero's troubles from last season seem to be carrying over to his appearances in spring training. While the official word is that he's still the fifth starter, that could be in doubt.
Enough is enough.

Happ has to be the number five to start season.

Send Romero to rehab ... or psych.

He had a poor outing last time. If he repeats that today, it is not as clear cut.

So far, he shut out Boston through 5. 2 hits, 2 walks and 2 SO.

I don't think it's right but the boxscore said he's thrown only 29 pitches through 5. That's an average inning for Romero lately.

game over jays win 1-0 Happ 6 innings 2 hits 0runs 2W 5K.. It ain't gonna be brain surgery unless they are operating on Ricky.
Send Romero down and let him get his head on straight.

Still a week and a half 'til opening day. I think they'll wait at least one more start each before making any decisions. I don't think they need a 5th starter until around April 6. They can string this thing out if they so desire.

Sportsnet magazine is suggesting that Joe Girardi will be the first AL manager fired this season. It makes sense that the Yankees will have a slow start, with Granderson, A-Rod, Texiera and likely Jeter starting the season on the DL. In their rotation the number 2 & 3 starters are 38 and 40, respectively, while the #4 & 5 had mediocre ERAs last season. It might be a long season for Yankee fans.:thumb:

And it appears Vernon Wells will be playing left.

Jays have the best lineup on paper this year in the majors

IMHO, only injuries could derail this team from a playoff appearance

As a life long Yankee fan I think I'm about to get sick to my stomach.

Here's their possible opening day line up
CF- Brett Gardner
RF- Ichiro Suzuki
2B- Robinson Cano
3B- Kevin Youkilis
DH- Travis Hafner
SS- Eduardo Nunez
LF- Brennan Boesch or Vernon
1B- Juan Rivera
C- Francisco Cervelli

Not good not good at all.

Brendan Morrow traded by the Stars to the Pens for prospect Joe Morrow.... Is that what you heard?
Possible I suppose Dawgger, but it's a hell of a reach from a Dallas hockey defenceman to a starting pitcher for a baseball team in Toronto.:confused::crazy::confused::crazy:

Oracle, I think you might be in the wrong bar-room to go looking for sympathy for the Yankees. 90% of the guys on TERB will be toasting each Yankee loss this season with shit-ass smiles on their faces.

Of course, I'm far too classy to be one of those guys - NOT!!!!!!

BTW, Dustin McGowan pitching against the Pirates mid week, in relief of Ricky R.

That's probably it. I was doing my chores when I heard out of one ear that Morrow had been traded. Then some jerk named "Oracle" cut me off and I gave chase to give him the one finger salute.

Here
Ooooops!

There is a new #5... and Happ deserves it.

I feel for Romero, though... from Ace to Dunedin in less than a full season!
