Vernon "0 for 4" Wells comes to bat in the 9th with runners on base. So, what happens? He pops out BEHIND the plate.:(

Looks like to-day's game is in the sewers. Down 0-7. The good Doctor probably won't win 20 games this year. Might not even win 15. Looks like a tight race between Halladay wins and VW :( home runs.

Heard the other day that Cito wants Aaron Hill to be more patient at the plate and get more walks. Cito: STOP MESSING WITH AARON'S HEAD. LEAVE HIM ALONE. IF IT AINT BROKEN, DONT BREAK IT!"

Vernon "0 for 4" Wells keeps striking out on the same fucking low and way outside pitch:mad: . Is he doing it on purpose to annoy us?

I wish Ricciardi had the nerve to trade Halladay last month to either Philly or Boston.

Was watching the game and saw VW sitting next to young Travis Snider. I'm not very good at reading lips, but I think VW said to swing at the low outside pitch:eek: . They have to get rid of VW (bad karma). Eat the bloody contract if we have to but get rid of him.

I may think Wells presure of living up to his salary has effected him ...
Heard rumours that Vernon hurt his back lifting his money. That might explain his poor performance at the plate. It is hard to swing a bat with the weight of all that money hanging on your back. How would you feel carrying $126MM to work?

Someone mentioned that there was an unassisted triple play a few days ago (15th in MLB history). How rare is that? It is as rare as a perfect game (16) or a 4 HR game (15).

Ok, was there ever an unassisted triple play, a perfect game and a 4 HR game all in the same season?

JAYS WIN! JAYS WIN! 11 runs was more than enough. No sweat.
You didn't mention your man, Vern. 2 for 5 with 5 total bases. Look out for September.

Mind you, in the 8th, he didn't realize there was only 1 out, not 2 and almost got thrown out trying to get back to 2nd.

On a more serious note. It is my understanding that the peace officers at the Rogers Center are "paid duty officers". Questions:
1) Are they from the same division or jurisdiction as the RC? If yes, isn't this a conflict of interest?
2) Are the officers paid directly or are the payment made to Toronto PD or the police union?

According to the Blue Jays game commentary, Ricciardi held a press conference this PM to update on the health issues of starters Marcum, McGowan and Litsch. Apparently, Marcum and McGowan are expected to be good for opening day 2010 and Litsch expected to be recovered by May or June.

Great news, espec. McGowan who was having a slow recovery for a while.

OMG did you see that catch by Bautista in RF? The Jays are probably better defensively now in RF than when that other guy was here. Also, a few games ago Bautista gunned down a runner with a bullet throw from RF.
