Leaving aside whether it's reasonable - which I don't know.
You still can't go and throw golfballs at cops and beat up journalists and piss on war graves because you don't like the lock-down. Reasonable people phone their MP's and say "WTF are you doing?!"
The problem is that the anti vaxx protest movement is very aggressive. For instance, the group that tried to force its way into the Eaton Centre yesterday. Or the people who threw gravel at Trudeau. That's got nothing to do with Australia.
Sometimes you cannot reason with people especially when fear is a factor and not always government or elected officials will listen or react to what you have to say. Attending a peaceful protest is sending the message just fine, government suppressing the protest which leads to a counter reaction only makes things worse and shows you how much these "MPs" are willing to listen.
I have not seen anti vaxxers suggest that vaxxed people should be jailed and forcefully injected with something which would neutralize the vaccine (maybe some have). However, I have seen provaxxers (including yourself) on here (Quebec law thread) suggest that protestors be jailed and forcefully vaccinated. So don't talk to me about how aggressive that crowd is. The provaxx crowd is just as aggressive if not more so (albeit in a cowardly fashion).
I believe that we'll see more and more of these videos as the world gets more fed up with these idiotic loonies who are interfering with our recovery based on their ignorance. The majority will bring them to their knees one way or another. The more that they resist, then stronger the measures that will be used against them. There is no sympathy for them.
So you are saying that anti-vaxxers and anti-everythings are in a state of bliss?
We have tried reasoning with the anti-everything crowd. Since that isn't working, stronger measures, which the are bringing upon themselves, need to be taken. This is what we are seeing. These unreasonable and loud people are a very small minority. The vast majority of the world wants them dealt with so as to return the world to some sense of normalcy.
How have you tried reasoning with the crowd by telling them that there is no other way but to inject themselves with a vaccine, possibly every 6 months because it does not give you sterilizing immunity but offers protection , have a vaccine passport and still wear a mask everywhere you go? Just don't tell me "Oh, but they have a choice" as it's a choice to be excluded from society, which no normal person will ever willingly choose. Just a few months ago according to our golden boy in chief we were a country that does not do that, so what happened, how did we go from not being that country to being one?
Actually their government went full Nazi. The people are just starting to fight back.
A few examples.
By explaining the historical safety and efficiency of vaccines, some of which were developed and produced with less knowledge and expertise that we have now.
By showing statistical data of how so many more people have adverse effects from covid then from vaccines.
By showing the vast consensus of scientists/experts telling us that the vaccines work and are safe.
By explaining, through science and statistics, how their concerns are either completely invalid or vastly overblown.
And many others. However no matter how much accurate and factual reasoning is attempted it is "but this, or but that" and "what ifs" and I don't believe this source or that source.
Reasoning has been attempted for almost a year already and you get to a point where enough is enough. It's like dealing with a 3 year old. At some point you give up and take stronger measures. That's what is happening around the world. The world has given up trying to reason with the 3 year old mentality of the anti-everything crowd.
I am sure that you will be giving a "but, but, but" or "what if A, or B,or C" type reply or "I don't believe what you are saying" type reply. If you do, then you should be sent to your room with no dessert.
Ghettos, gas chambers, wearing yellow stars, confiscating property, invasions are full Nazi. It is ignorant, vile and insulting to equate the two situations and trying to do so, in itself, rings of Naziism.
BTW, there are not enough covidiots to fight back and win. You are a very small minority and the anti-everything movement is in the process of being crushed. Resistance is futile. Try living in the real world.
Except they are not 3 year olds and you have no business telling them what to do, you are not their daddy. If you have daddy issues see Giselle from HPL, she will treat you like one. As you rightly noted there is a counter argument to every one of your arguments. Two main ones being: 1 that mRNA vaccines are new, they hit the market about a year ago and work very differently from everything done previously, so here you can only hope that science is right, 2 For vast majority of people mortality rate is below 1% they don't need that vaccine, people 75+ are in high risk category and skew that statistic to about 2% or so on average.
The word Nazi is used when referring to control. It always get s tossed around when you have a strict teacher or a boss who breaks your balls okay No one is comparing this to the killing of innocent people.
Err..... that is the medical advice that is current. What is the plan for rejecting all of that?..... "Oh, we won't vaxx or mask and maybe we only lose 100,000 dead this fall and then maybe it may - or may not go away?!"
Governments plan with the best possible scientific advice. What's your alternative?
The plan is that we reach a plateau sufficient to create natural immunity and then we re-open, like Canada is now. Or Denmark. Or Norway.
The places that don't vaxx or mask, like Texas or Florida get fucked. Canada doesn't because we take this shit seriously.
And wtf?!...... The vaxx is a half-hour appointment for a little jab. It's not a big deal. And it's far from guaranteed that you will need a booster shot.
The government gets to tell people what to do. Get used to it.
I thought that you were making an argument specifically based on Australia and actually had a point. But you're just another anti-vaxxer whining about "being told what to do" and "taking the vaxx".
The mRNA vaxxes are old science. They've been researched for decades. Nothing new there. And 1% of the population of North America is 4,000,000 people. It would crash the health system aside from the humanitarian disaster.
Governments get to govern. Get used to it. They tell you what to do and put you in jail when you won't do it. No amount of First World Privilege is going to save you on this one.
You don't like what they're doing?.... Vote for Bernier, not Justin. Ohh, that didn't work out so well, did it? Well, that's because most people support the vaxx and mask mandates and it's a democracy. So you do what the majority wants.
Or bring a court application..... Ohh, there are many court decisions upholding vaccine mandates. So that won't work either.
So do what you're told and get the vaxx or lose your job and stay at home. It's simple. There's no alternative.
You parade around downtown and fight with cops, you get your ass kicked and then you go to jail. And most people are going to hate you because they're pro vaxx and pro mask.
They mask you because they want to protect themselves, so that you don't say "Oh, why didn't you mask people" in case one of your relatives dies. The evidence on masking (the ones most people use everyday in stores etc.) is very weak, in fact the virus is small enough to get right through, you need to use a special kind of mask to have protection from the virus.
We don't need an alternative we had a plan to get up to 70% vaccination rate and start reopening, instead we are panicking for no good reason.
The jury is still out on this one but I'm pretty confident they will ask you to get a booster (I hope I'm wrong).
All that's fine and dandy. But you don't get to tell the government to go fuck itself because you don't agree with it.
And I prefer the government's experts to some dude who gets his info from Twitter and YouTube.
That's where we are different, I thought we elect the government to represent us not treat us like 3 year olds or 12th century peasants. I guess if you like being told what to do you are enjoying it now. I once listened to the guy who developed mRNA vaccine say that it is very much untested, do you want me to forget that or will you tell me that it is not true? It cannot be possibly tested because it's been out for a year. It may be perfectly safe though, what I'm saying is there is a reason for concern.
There are a lot of fake videos on YouTube and "the guy who developed mRNA vaccine" is the biggest and best known of the fakes. You got grifted there. That dude has been debunked. You can google it. It's a scam.
The government does what it thinks is reasonable. There's no "bargain" where they give you Xmas presents if you vote for someone.
There sure maybe some experts in the government but you wouldn't deny that we have quite a few people who are not real experts in the government like the Minister of Finance who's actually a journalist with a degree in slavic literature. She's calling the shots on our economy and some may even believe she's an expert. The reality is she's there because the golden boy wanted a representative government. My point is that you should by now have noticed that not everything that shines is gold and making it in Ottawa does not mean you know some sacred truth. So depending on what we are talking about there may be far more knowledgeable people on youtube and other social networks than some people in the government.
