Affirmative Action

What I find most disturbing about this more broadly is SCOTUS newfound zeal for reversing decades of settled law simply because the GOP has jerry rigged the court and they have the numbers to do it.

SCOTUS is developing a credibility problem which in the long run I rear will not serve democracy well.

Why do you think they are complaining so much about their loss of credibility?
They thought they would get to do these things and everyone would still have to respect them.

Yes, because they are still qualified.
If they are qualified, why do they even need affirmative action to get admitted to university in the first place?

BTW: It is my understanding that SAT scores are "blind tested" i.e. the computer doesn't know if the person being tested is black, white, yellow, brown and/or purple.

Because they don't have rich white parents to grease their ways into the schools.
The way the orange clown got his education.

I think the Toronto Maple Leafs should have an Affirmative Action policy. Just kidding (I think)!

Don Cherry was a big advocate for affirmative action for English Canadian players.

Because being qualified doesn't get you into University.

No.
They will be based on race and connections.
Why on earth would this SCOTUS want to base university access on merit?
Not this SCOTUS. Against the will of God or something.
To get into a good school in the future you will need to get party approval. The party will also have to approve all textbooks and decide who gets to teach. Of course, it's the kind of thing that's liable to cause an armed revolution - why do you think these fuckers are adamant about having so many guns?

The whole idea of throwing meritocracy out was just a terrible idea right from the get go.

Equality of outcome was a disaster.

yep

by all means remove any barriers that are discriminatory
but acceptance/ advancement should be based on merit / achievement alone

The fool Justin had the responsibility to all Canadians to choose the very best person to manage very important cabinet positions in 2015
he chose his cabinet via boy/ girl/ boy / girl, despite the fact there were far more male liberal MP candidates
he did this because
a) he is stupid
b) virtue signaling

look how that turned out for him - JWR & Jane Philpott
