Mr. Douglas: it's an open forum so you can post as much or as little as you want to at any time.
I don't follow or support the Arizona franchise but I have opinions about them. It's just part of the sport.
Even though we may have different opinions on many topics, I take you as a man of your word.
But if he's not following the team or watching games or reading articles, what can he contribute? What kind of opinions about what's happening can he have?

I won't be caving. That Montreal collapse was the last straw for me. MLSE exerts too much control from the top and that's a major problem for me. Things drastically need to change for me to return as a fan.
I think Morgan Rielly will be gone within 12 months. He's from the west and will probably join a team in the west.

Who cares. Thorton only wanted a pay check. I'm sure Dubas notified him they had no plans on keeping him and Thorton already knows the Leafs cap situation.Doesn't sound like the the Leafs ever even reached out to Thornton to discuss staying/going/whatever. Season ended, that was it. Way to keep it classy, Dubas.
Like I said...my understanding from what has been publicly reported is that no one from the Leafs communicated with the Thornton camp regarding next steps whatsoever. Simply dead air. But if you believe otherwise, that's fine too. I'm just sharing what those insiders in the know have reported.
Thornton minimum salary has no impact on the salary cap. You have to pay someone the minimum spot, and at that salary level it can be buried in the minors with no cap hit.
not saying it was wrong to move on from him, but his contract has no salary cap implications.
First pre-season game of the year - Buds win 4-1. Mostly bags of spare pucks and cans or corn playing, but was good to see JT out there paddling around and potting one to start the road back to normal. It was a nothing game, but still, hope springs eternal!
I'm sure there are backroom, off the record discussions between agents and upper brass long before.
Everyone understands that everyone needs to be in the loop so they can make plans.
