Yes, a player is allow to hit but it has to be within the rules (no charging, no boarding, etc.). One of the talking heads on TV said that only suspensions exceeding 5 games in the playoffs are appealable. Anyway, Scheifele announced to-day that he won't appeal.
No kidding it has to be within the rules, thanks for that...it was probably charging and only charging, no elbow, no stick, no head shot...Evans didn't protect himself very well.

How long is Evans out for. Is that lost bigger or worse than Scheifele's 4 games. I don't know, I am asking.

It would be ironic if Scheifele comes back and someone tries to throw hands only to get his ass kicked also. It isn't like the old days where you can send someone like John Kordic in who could rip a non goon apart with experience and a metric ass ton of roids.

There should be a rule implemented whereby when one player injures another 'deliberately' (as determined by an independent arbitor) and in a manner/fashion that causes serious injury, that player automatically forfeits a percentage of his salary directly to the player he injured. The percentage should be high enough that the offending player really feels it, beyond any fines/suspensions the league or any member team might apply.
No, I don't like that...players would be milking their injury.

Just to be clear, the penalty for charging include:

"a major plus a game misconduct, or suspension if the infraction results in injury to the opposing player."

Evans is a fourth line plugger who leads by hard work and as they say grit. Does all the small things well but not big on skill. Scheifele is a former 1st round 7thoverall selection who has a high skill level. You be the judge.

John Kordic did steroids but not a metric ton as you say. He was actually a decent dman in junior.

I know eh?? my god they are playing well. not just Price but the whole team. 5 in a row now and we are going home,,,,looking very good ,, Go Habs Go
Regardless of how deep the Habs go, they have exceeded all expectations so far. Just like in the regular season, the Habs are rolling 4 forward lines. Nick Suzuki has the most TOI at 19:02, everybody else is lower. (The Leafs had 3 players over 22:00 TOI.) I'm one of those guys who believes you can't keep throwing the same players on the ice over and over because, well, because they're only human.

Please i know you are somehow frustrated about the Habs but we are not buying that BS. The habs are just a regular nhl team who have not win much since 1993...
The NHL HQ’d in Montreal but then moved to New York in 1989, the Habs have had a harder time conspiring with the NHL to cheat and fix games since then...1993 was the last gift.

Guys, Fun For All is just kidding round and probably suffering a bit of PTSD. LOL!.

Other than the "noisy threesome", Leaf fans are generally intelligent, rational and civil.

There use to be the "French Canadian Rule" where they got to pick the best players out of Quebec...of the six player reps who attempted to form the first players association in 1957, only one was not traded as punishment, that player was Doug Harvey of Montreal...1966, the winning Stanley Cup goal was scored by Henri Richard who put the puck in with his glove, the refs were the first ones to leave the ice and building...they named the Frank Selke award after a former Montreal GM for "Best Defensive Forward", like as if anybody cares about that award, then they give it to Bob Gainey for the first four years because they know he isn't good enough to win any other award, and then compound that NHL gift by giving that gift to Guy Carbonneau three times...and then those awards are leveraged to give Gainey and Carbonneau HOF status...numerous suspicious calls have been made...10 overtime wins in the 1993 playoffs...pulling Steve Penney out of nowhere...

Rumour has it that Trump is hiring the Montreal Canadiens to look over the election results in Wisconsin and Michigan...no kidding!
