When there is economic difficulty, immigrants are always held responsible.
This has been the trend for the last 100+ years.
So this isn't a drastic and permanent shift as much as a predictable trend which will reverse and course correct on its own as the economy corrects itself.
Usually this happens every decade or so to varying degrees as economic slowdowns happen every decade or so.
Careful, you just admitted Biden left a shitty economy.......

But I think it's a longer term trend. There is very much an increased isolationism trend running through to West.

The economy is not tightly controlled by an administration.
It is dynamic and based on several factors.
COVID happened, a few wars happened and as a result we see inflation, job loss etc a few years later.

Those are all Republicans.

So you really see the Democratic side as a foregone conclusion?
It's a coronation for Newsom?

I am going by probability. The California wildfires have catapulted Newsom ahead of the pack without any other viable candidates.

It‘s painfully obvious you have no idea what Californians are thinking In connection with Newsom and the wildfires.

Come hang out in California and have a chat with the people here.

Painfully obvious.

Ypu really think the mismanagement of resources there have made him look better?

Have you seen the exodus numbers in California? Looked at their cities?

Stop watching MSNBC and get out of your bubble.

Are you sure the mismanagement came from Newsom. It will be the nation voting, not just Californians.

He is the governor of the state. That includes various regulations, water management, state wide fire prevention planning and policy, coordination with federal resources.

And the rest of the nation has seen it in real time.

At this time the Democrats have no leadership. Soon they will elect a chair. Step one. Then various people will try to make a name for themselves. But the party is in a big transition, with lots of power brokers aging out and new ones looking to take over.

There is disarray right now, donors will be edgy, and lots of backstabbing. Newsome is more like DeSantis right now, local state power but not enough to be the next guaranteed thing.

They should ask Newsom what he's going to do about homelessness in California and his citizens fleeing the state.

Political sentiment in the collective west has been drifting
to the right. I don't see this trend is going to reverse in the
coming years. If it is a left-leaning politician who gets elected
like what transpired in the UK the newly elected leader will have
to moderate his or her liberal stance. I bet Gavin Newsom won't
likely be elected. The public has had enough of his climate change
garbage though it looks he can be pragmatic as well.

If Kamala had won, he'd be increasing climate funding.

I don't think Americans even know the wars are happening, Buddy.
There are two they know about.
Not so much the others.
Remember there are people who think there were no wars the US was involved with when Trump was in his first term.

There were nations looong before the French revolution. Ethopia formed as a nation around 10 centuary BC. It existed long before someone put pen to paper. Same with socilaism. When cavemen got together to keep the fire burning and get some sleep, that was socilism. Hunting parties.-socilaism.
You need to distinguish between a nation and a state (and a nation-state) here.
