Davos Man' Mark Carney could be 'selected not elected' as Canada's next PM “My friends, don't be so sure that we're going to be in an election in the spring. I think there is a 50/50 chance we will have prime minister Mark Carney ruling over us — without an electoral mandate, without a seat in Parliament for more than half a year first,” cautioned
@EzraLevant
. The Liberals' leadership race is now underway, with contenders already entering and leaving the fray before one of the biggest names, Mark Carney, has made any official announcements. Taking to U.S. airwaves, the former governor of both the banks of Canada and England made an appearance on The Daily Show where he branded himself an “outsider” in the Liberal race while dropping the strongest hints yet of his pending campaign launch. “If he does win, without a seat ... you can be the prime minister without a seat in Parliament,” warned Ezra Levant on Monday night's episode of The Ezra Levant Show. With Trudeau tentatively set to be replaced on March 9 following the Liberal leadership contest, Parliament is set to resume from prorogation on March 24. “That could be the first time MPs vote non-confidence. That's not a lot of time to be a PM,” Ezra said, cautioning what then might come next: “He'll use that time to put his personal stamp on things. To make some appointments, to introduce a cabinet, to make some announcements, to change some policies. But the main point is, on March 9, while Parliament is prorogued, he will be slipped right into 24 Sussex Drive. No Canadian election, with citizens and adults voting. He'll be selected by this bizarre Liberal process of children and permanent residents and anyone who can activate a computer account. He'll be selected, not elected. And you know what? I can absolutely imagine Jagmeet Singh being persuaded to give the new guy a chance, to continue supporting Carney, propping him up like Jagmeet Singh has propped up Trudeau so many times, until October when the election is now tentatively scheduled. ... My friends, don't be so sure that we're going to be in an election in the spring. I think there is a 50/50 chance we will have prime minister Mark Carney ruling over us — without an electoral mandate, without a seat in Parliament for more than half a year first.

Why not have a more open primary?

Of course, unless you think it's best only rich people should be able to run?
If the Primary was months in the making, then a totally different story!!
But why don't you pose the same question to all the parties rather than just those on the "Left"?

It's the party 's fault it can't get It's leadership together. The Canadian public has no obligation to wait for them.

It does show that at this point they can't be trusted. Some time out after a trip to the back of the wood shed will do them good.

That's for just admitting I'm right. Even you see they cleared the field with the entrance fee.
Well the Conservatives did the same, and never saw you criticize them for doing so!!
Realistically it is just between these two candidates. Others knew from the get go and decided to drop out.
There are still half a dozen candidates that have thrown their hats in the ring. Having too many nominees means that there is less air time during the debates!!

It's not the party's fault. Trudeau should have resigned earlier, but made a mistake in the manner in which he handled the Finance Position and intended cabinet reshuffle!!.
Part of that fault also lies at Freeland's feet for the manner in which she resigned!!
The Party have done the right thing since, and really needs a new Leader to close that gap on Pee Pee!!
Too big a mandate for Pee Pee will lead to a disaster by undoing several accomplishments by axing the Childcare, Dental and Pharmacare programs!!

Who else do you think would be running that would have won?

Juvenile. Nothing but insults and the same emoji over and over and over again.
Yet you keep coming back to reply to my posts hoping that I entertain a conversation with you despite the fact you stated you were done replying to me. Yep, you have a man crush on me. Not that there's anything wrong with that. 🌈 🤣🤣🤣
