Freeland would do just as poorly as Justin would do in the next election. The only hope in my opinion to hold on to more seats is Carney. Justin messed up by not resigning earlier and allowing Carney a longer runway for him to charm more people. Pee Pee isn't really liked by many in the center and with enough time I think Carney could have won many back.

It's not the party's fault. Trudeau should have resigned earlier, but made a mistake in the manner in which he handled the Finance Position and intended cabinet reshuffle!!.
Part of that fault also lies at Freeland's feet for the manner in which she resigned!!
The Party have done the right thing since, and really needs a new Leader to close that gap on Pee Pee!!
Too big a mandate for Pee Pee will lead to a disaster by undoing several accomplishments by axing the Childcare, Dental and Pharmacare programs!!
If the party had a mechanism in place to remove a leader instead of refusing to allow a leadership review then this doesn't happen.

A political party is a private entity who's goal is to get elected. That is all it is. It's not guaranteed survival, nor is there any legal obligation to let them get their act together.

They placed themselves in this position by keeping Trudeau as leader. They make their own rules and therefore can change them. Unless you are stating they are not so democratic?

It's the party's fault across the board. No scapegoating will save them.

Well the Conservatives did the same, and never saw you criticize them for doing so!!
Realistically it is just between these two candidates. Others knew from the get go and decided to drop out.
There are still half a dozen candidates that have thrown their hats in the ring. Having too many nominees means that there is less air time during the debates!!
It was to show fundraising capabilities. When it's this quick the money can realistically only appear from Big donors or the candidate. It is telling.

It was to clear out anyone who wasn't going to owe big donors.

She scores about 9 points above. Carney a few higher.

I thinks best to wait for polling when in race. But even then will the polling be accurate?

He is a smart man in economics, he's more centralist, and he was on Harper's side in 2008. His financial background will appeal to fiscal conservatives, not retarded social conservatives.
He has also gone full in favor of the carbon tax, and is an international banker.

Populism is rising. And this election will be about three things

Immigration
Economy/inflation
Carbon tax

Not necessarily in that order. He can in theory come out with a hardline on immigration but I bet there will be tons of footage saying otherwise at various thinktank/Davos type things.

Economy he has chops I agree. But trying to do that and keep a tax that, while not as universally hated as the GST is quite unpopular? Tough tough sell.
