My point is well established, immigrants, legal or not, contribute greatly to the economy.
When they are all deported who is going to do all the hard work they were doing, such as rebuilding a disaster zone? picking the fruit? landscaping and the other low paying hard menial jobs? This is one of several reasons I speculated rebuilding from this fire will take decades

What few seem to grasp is that forest fires are a natural occurrence and are needed to keep things in balance.
No shit? I did a stint in Gogama, Chapleau and Timmins for a summer in forestry in the mid 90’s for work during Uni.
I also got chased out of Northern Alberta by forest fires doing helecopter work for the same type job. It’s overwhelming how fast they can move.
We may have crossed paths. The world gets smaller the older we get, eh?
