No, sounds like you are displaying superiority over someone who simply prefers to live in a warm climate.

Even if he chooses to live in California, there are 39 million in California. A slim fraction are directly impacted. Some are inconvenienced.
Knock yourself out.

This is the second time Miley Cyrus's home has burned down due to wildfires in less than two years.

Also, Ben Afleck had just bought his home after his separation a few months ago. It's now gone.

List of celebrities looking for a new home will be huge.

You're changing the subject from fires to hurricanes.
The subject is rebuilding after a disaster

Let's play along anyway. When you live here, you have first hand insight into matters. The Latino guys who show up to work on houses have been here a long time. They have developed skills. They don't just get thrown into construction. Perhaps they get on a crew as an assistant moving and disposing things.
No doubt. No one starts as a master carpenter, your point is what?

Sounds like you support large immigration numbers or worse you just feel like you have to contradict Trump on any policy. I guess we should just open the Southern border again. It makes certain services cheap.
Actually, I do not understand the immigration problems so I am unqualified to talk wisely on the topic but I am positive Trump is a liar and does not understand the problems either

Immigrants do not eat cats in Springfield , as Trump said, and have been vital to the economy of Springfield Ohio, according to the Mayor who is qualified to discuss immigration in Springfield

I'm not sure I really know what the subject is or what point you're trying to make about the fires. I guess you don't like Trump and thought it was important to somehow try to tie immigration policy to the California fires.

Well. In retrospect, I guess the takeaway from this is, don't build a paradise community in an unprotected tinderbox.
Nobody gives a fuck it seems. Worldwide.

My point is well established, immigrants, legal or not, contribute greatly to the economy.

When they are all deported who is going to do all the hard work they were doing, such as rebuilding a disaster zone? picking the fruit? landscaping and the other low paying hard menial jobs? This is one of several reasons I speculated rebuilding from this fire will take decades

Trump is a demagogue, he scares people into voting for him by exaggerating problems
they do not have then claiming only he can fix them.

Reminds me of self help guru charlatans, now that I think of it.

WTF? My problem is I am not grateful enough? That is supposed to be wise?
Makes more sense to say your problem is you are too grateful,
stop sitting around in a bliss of gratitude

What few seem to grasp is that forest fires are a natural occurrence and are needed to keep things in balance.

I witnessed a fire near Malibu in September about 20 years ago fanned by the Santa Ana winds. Was astounded by the strength of thedownslope winds and I was 5 miles from the fire. I cannot image the intensity of the winds when compressed and superheated by fire! 3 big old Huey choppers were hauling Bambi Buckets of water non-stop but it was like pissing on a forest fire.

I've also spent time in Northern Ontario in the Chapleau and Gogama with a friend who was operating a couple small Jet Rangers for the MNR during the fire season doing 'prescribed burns' burning fire lines in case there was. a fire. Saw several real fires too. Was in Kelowna two eyars ago and saw the West Kelowna fire come over the mountain. THAT was scary and impressive.

This current PP fire is astounding. I feel so bad for all the people whose homes have been incinerated. I wonder if they'll rebuild?
No shit? I did a stint in Gogama, Chapleau and Timmins for a summer in forestry in the mid 90’s for work during Uni.

I also got chased out of Northern Alberta by forest fires doing helecopter work for the same type job. It’s overwhelming how fast they can move.

We may have crossed paths. The world gets smaller the older we get, eh?
